You Choose Fritz

They all stared at you.

"I, uh..." you started, rubbing the back of your neck. "Look..." You tentatively looked between each of the boys, but your gaze lingered on Fritz.

Meeting eyes, you smiled and his eyes lit up.

"You're right, Fritz, we should go have lunch together," you said.

Jeremy's, Mike's, and Vincent's faces fell, but Fritz beamed.

He shrugged. "Sorry fellas," he said, strolling to your side. "I'm just irresistible."

You kicked his foot and told him to cut it out.

"Ow! Sorry."

Mike rolled his eyes and glared at you and Fritz. Mostly at Fritz. "Whatever, asshat." He leaned over and whispered into Jeremy's ear, not too quietly, "Whatdya say we suck each other's dicks and make them jealous?"

Jeremy turned beet red and pulled nervously at the neck of his sweatshirt. "H--huh?!"

Vincent glared at everybody in the room. "You're all horny bastards," he declared. "Then again, so am I." He left the pizzeria with a flourish, but not before promising you all that you haven't seen the last of him.

"What a weird guy," Fritz muttered. He eyed Jeremy. "Hey, uh... I'm sorry, man."

Jeremy startled. "It's-- It's alright. It's n-not re-really my decision, anyway..." He shrugged and stared at the floor.

"Thanks, dude," Fritz breathed. He eyed you now. Throwing an arm over your shoulder, he said, "Now, how about that lunch?"

--

"Sure is snowy out," Mike commented.

"You're real great at small talk," Fritz replied.

A little under a month in, and things were going pretty strong so far. Really, things between you and Fritz were pretty much the same... you were just less coy about romance. And he was hornier, but you kept him in line.

You watched your breath puff and the snow fall just before your face. First snow of the season. Jeremy wasn't on the walk with you, but you were sure he was excited wherever he was.

Fritz pulled his scarf further up over his mouth and red nose. "Jesus fuck, I hate snow. This is the worst day we could have decided to go on a walk." His words were slightly muffled. "And my glasses are fogging up, too."

"This is horrible small talk," Mike pointed out.

Fritz scoffed. "I'll change the subject, then. How are things going with you and your girl? (Me and (Y/N) are going great, by the way.) When I met her, she didn't really seem like she wanted to talk to you."

Mike ignored the bragging and reached up to run a hand through his hair before he realized he was wearing a hat. "Well... we finally broke up. I thought it was time to move on, and... I found someone else anyway."

Both you and Fritz stared at Mike. "Shit, who?"

Mike grinned bashfully, something you didn't see often. "You've already met 'em. I'll tell you later."

You wondered if Mike had been serious about that dick thing he told Jeremy about.

You all walked along in silence. It started to snow heavier.

"You ever wonder how your ex is doing?" Fritz broke the snowy silence.

"Uh, not really. It's probably best not to think about it."

You lapsed into silence once again. You started to approach a bench with a bundled up couple on it.

Fritz narrowed his eyes, taking his glasses and wiping them off before putting them back on. "Hey, is that Vincent?" He pointed a gloved finger at the bench.

You looked closer. That was definitely Vincent... and a girl? Dark skin, short black hair, glasses...

Mike was already in front of them, accusing. "What the fuck are you doing with Doll?"

You and Fritz hurried to his side to make sure he didn't do anything stupid.

Doll looked uncomfortable at the attention, but Vincent grinned slyly. "I can appreciate a beautiful woman," he said. He made eye contact with you and suddenly his demeanor was that of a friend who hasn't seen you in a few weeks. Which was what he was. "Hey, (Y/N.) We haven't spoken in a while. How's it going?"

You shrugged.

"Shut up, Vincent! Why do you go out with every woman you lay eyes on?" Mike interrupted.

"Well I'm sorry I have better skills at romancing people than you do."

As Vincent and Mike continued arguing, Doll locked eyes with you. Help me, she mouthed.

You're on your own, you mouthed back.

"Hey, wanna dip?" Fritz whispered. "I can't stand this."

You agreed and left the three of them to their chaos.

It was snowing even heavier now, so you decided it was time to head back home before Fritz froze to death. "Isn't it crazy all of us got someone to be in love with?" he asked. "This truly is the best timeline."

You laughed. He was only saying that because he's the one who got with you.

Turning to you, Fritz smiled contentedly and put his hands on your shoulders. "What can I say? You're pretty gnarly."

You smiled back and went in for the kiss.
