You teleported back to the dispute, turning on your earpiece beforehand. "Can someone please tell me what's happening!" you pleaded. The line was silent for a moment."Got some kind of trespassers over in the back causing a disturbance. It might be a distraction so can you check the front? Backup will be there if needed," Steve said over the comm.
"Roger that, Rogers." You heard Steve sigh. You always took the chance to reply to him like that. Making your way to the front of the compound, you kept a look out for any intruders. After a boring five minutes, you spoke into the comm, "Guys, there's nothing happening out here. Anyone need any he-" You couldn't finish your sentence as you were knocked over from behind.
Grunting, you got up and faced your opponent. "I'm going to have to take that back!" You're teammates questioned what was happening, but you didn't respond. One glance at the person in front of you was all you needed to figure out who they were.
They swung at you with their fist, causing you to quickly duck. "You're the one the stole all our legal documents!" You kicked them in the chest. They stumbled back a few steps.
"So you have heard of me then. Wouldn't have guessed that stuck up heroes like you would have any clue about us lowlife." ESP said as they took another jab at you. You teleported behind their back and kicked their knees.
"Duh, we watch the news. We're not monsters." ESP tried to sweep your feet out from underneath you, but you reacted faster. Activating your electromotives, you took aim at them. Their eyes widened as they realized what you were about to do. ESP muttered under their breath. You made out some of it.
"Didn't think she'd actually do it... move to plan B." You didn't quite understand what they were getting at. "Before you do that, just listen to me!"
You made it look as if you were contemplating on what to do. "How 'bout no." With a stolid face, you sent a energy field at ESP. They moved out of the way the second you fired, almost as if they knew it was coming. Did they know?
"Listen, instead of blasting me, hear me out!" You exhaled a long breath, nodding at them to continue. "We had a long heart to heart talk the other day. I'm sure you remember that." You blinked at them utterly confused.
"I don't know if you ran into a brick wall lately, but we've never met before." You put your hands on your hips, eyeing ESP with suspicion.
"You were at the dinner. Think of my name, ESP. It has a double meaning. I can tell you've thought about this before, (Y/N). I only came here to do one thing, and that was to see you. So goodbye for now!" Your mind raced, trying to put all the clues just given. How'd they know my name? WAIT, THEY KNEW MY NAME!
Not focused on the person in front of you, you failed to notice them pull out a canister till they though it at you, having it hit you in the face. You crumbled to the ground, black spots dancing in your vision. ESP ran off without a word. Gas leaked out from a break in the canister.
Your eyes began to droop, your breathing became slower, everything around you becoming a colorless blur. Seconds before passing out, you were able to alert through the comms.
"If you don't hear from me in the next five minutes, assume I'm dead."

The sound of beeping filled your ears as you began to wake up. You slowly blinked your eyes open, the bright overhead lights slightly blinding you. You tried to think back to what had happened, but you couldn't remember much except for:
