You blinked your eyes a few times as you regained consciousness. The bright light from up above made your eyes unfocused. A pair of strong arms were carrying you to an unknown location. Well, one of the arms felt with metal, but you dismissed the thought almost instantly.
Your eyes adjusted to the harsh lighting slightly, enough for you to make out a few details of the person holding you. Long brown hair that reached their shoulders, a short stubble beard, and blue eyes was all you could see. In your disoriented state, you thought the person looked godly.
"Jesus?" your hoarse voice whispered, bright eyes shining at the man. Am I in heaven? Did I die? "If this is what heaven is like, I could get used to this." A goofy grin was plastered on your face.
The man chuckled. The surrounding light became artificial like you had just been brought inside a building. "Cause I for sure thought I would go to hell and become its new ruler." A giddy laugh escaped from your mouth. "Queen (Y/N), ruler of hell! All you imbeciles must bow down before me or there'll be consequences!" You punched your right arm into the air, nearly hitting faux Jesus' face in the process.
You continued to mutter nonsense until you were laid onto a stretcher and wheeled away from Jesus. "Bye Jesus! I'll see you at the stables for dinner!" You waved goodbye to the man as he slowly faded from your vision. Once again, you fell back asleep.
When you woke up again, wires were attached to you and your body was definitely wrapped in some places. Hushed voices talked. Another man, more godly than the first, looked down on you. He had short blonde hair and one striking blue eye, the other one looked fake. He two also had a short beard. He must be God.
"Wow, you must be God," you yawned. "I must be one lucky gal to have met both Jesus and God!" The man flashed you a beautiful white smile. He placed a hand gingerly on your shoulder.
"While I may not be the God, I certainly am a god." You cocked an eyebrow up at him. He turned his head and called out to the others you heard talking. "She's finally awake. Someone should go get the girl."
"So... you're not God?" The blonde turned back to you.
"No, and the other man wasn't Jesus, nor are you dead." He gave you a small smile before walking away. A girl around your age took his place besides you. She helped you sit up in the bed you were in; she proceeded to look over all your injuries.
Your perplexed expression caused her to stop. "(Y/N), is everything ok?" she asked. You opened your mouth then closed it, not knowing what to say.
"Um, what the hell is going on? Who are you again?" The girl looked at you, sympathy filled her eyes.
"Shuri." Her name clicked in your said the moment she said it. You felt daft. Of course you knew her, she was one of your best friends. How come you couldn't remember her name?
"Right... yeah... I knew that." Shuri gave you a minute to think prior to her explaining what had happened to you.
You had sustained multiple injuries. Most of them weren't major and only needed time to heal. You had broken your left shoulder on impact of the glass dome which Shuri used Wakandan technology to fix to a certain extent. She wanted the rest to heal by itself. You had a broken finger on your right would be healing without any technological aid.
Along with all of the injuries, you weren't breathing when you were rescued from the mixture (Ellis had pulled a lever that emptied all the containers into a holding tank underground). The liquid was in your lungs which American doctors had treated for you while you were in a medically induced coma. Once that had happened, the remaining Avengers had transferred you to Wakanda.
