"Nitara, are you pregnant?"

Everyone heard their luna's question afterall they are werewolves and their hearing was Impecable.

There was sound of glass shattering somewhere.

People gasped.

Nitara and Gabriel just stood there eyes wide.

Instinctively her hands went to her stomach.

They both were thinking about everytime they were together intimately. They were so lost into each other that the thought of using protection has never occured to any of them.

As if they realised it at the same time, they both sucked in a deep breath.

"Oh god."

They both exclaimed at the same time.

Nitara looked up to see his reaction, biting her lips. She was afraid that he wouldn't want a baby this early. They have just been together for a few weeks.

But her suspicions flew out the window as soon as she looked at his face.

There was nothing but joy.

She wanted to be happy too but before she had to confirm if they really were having a baby.

"How can you tell mom?"

"For one there is a cute little bump already forming in your belly and you were going to pick beer but subconciously chose to pick lemonade instead. You are already protecting your baby."

As she explained, Gabriel moved behind Nitara and wrapped her arms around her placing them on her hands that were already on the small bump that is now their baby bump. He kissed her head.

Alpha David took this moment to make his announcement. So he went up the makeshift stage they had prepared.

"As you all knew that tonight's party was to celebrate my daughter's arrival, but since this morning we are getting more and more good news."

Then he beckoned Hudson and Tracey to come up the stage.

"Your future alpha has found his mate, who happens to be my daughter's best frient from the Reed Pack. Welcome your future luna Tracey."

There were cheers all around.

"Now let me introduce you to my daughter and her mate."

He then called them on the stage.

"Nitara also found her mate in the Reed Pack. Lets all welcome soon to be Alpha Gabriel Reed."

Again there were cheers all around.

Until a screeching noise interupted the jovial atmosphere.

"You are an alpha."

It was Shelby.

Everybody looked at her. A mixture of horrified and livid look on her face.

"Yes, what is it to you?" Alpha David asked her.

"He is my mate."

The confusion on eveyone's face changed with a shocked look.

Nitara's eyes widened and she looked up at him.

Gabriel lost his calm seeing her so flustered.

"What are you talking about woman? I don't even recognise you."

"Oh baby but I am your mate. Don't you remember when you came to this pack seven years ago, all lean and lanky with a head full of curls. Why didn't you tell me then you were next in line for being alpha?"

Shelby started walking towards the stage.

"I would've never rejected you." she basically purred at him.

Nitara's breath were getting heavier by the minute.

'This can't be happening.'

'She can't do that.'

'She already took Liam.'

'She can't take Gabriel too.'

These were the few things going through her mind. She was going to take her hand out of his hands but that never happened.

Gabriel sensing his mate's emotions, gripped her hand tightly, reassuring her that this girl can never take him away.

"You rejected, I accepted. We no longer are mates." Gabriel told her with a stoic look on his face.

He told her with a cold glare that made her froze in her spot. Then he turned towards Nitara, his eyes instantly warming up.

"I have choosen my mate and she will be the woman i will spend rest of my life with."

His other hand that was not holding her went to her stomach. He pushed Nitara's body slightly behind himself, as he was not sure what the other she-wolf would do.

Shelby just gave a humorous laugh.

"Her. I mean.. you could have not find anyone else?"

Kaiden didn't like the she-wolf at all.

"What do you mean mutt?"

It was Kaiden's voice, much deeper than Gabriel's and it came out more like a growl.

"Oh come on. She is a little wimp. Her own mate rejected her for me. She is just a clumsy brat."

Gabriel heard a small whimper and his heart broke for his little she-wolf.

But his was not the only warning growl that Shelby received.

Alpha David, Luna Ethna, Hudson, Tracey, Oliver, Maya and a few other pack members who knew Nitara all didn't take her comment slightly.

Luna Ethna was the first to ask, "What do you mean by her mate rejected her?"

"Oh the little loser didn't tell you? Her mate was Liam but he wanted to be with me so he rejected her."

Shelby was enjoying herself but she didn't had any idea what she is setting herself for.

Now all the family turned towards Nitara.

Alpha David, "Is it true baby girl?"

Nitara just kept her head down, guilt was overweighting her for not telling her family about Liam.

Gabriel took it on himself and answered for her.

"Yes, that Lany guy rejected her two years ago."

"Two years ago?"

That was Hudson and Oliver.

Nitara looked up her eyes widened. She was anticipating angry glares.

There were angry glares but they were either focused on Shelby or Liam.

"You two broke my little girls heart?"

Alpha David was livid.

Liam gulped but Shelby just stood there unaffected.

"Either way, I want my mate back now."

"Who do you think I am? A commodity?"

"Well, I did a mistake but now i want to rectify it."

"Its too late. I have found my mate."

Shelby again laughed.

"Well then, I Shelby Presley challenge Nitara Aryana for the title of Luna and your mate."
