The challenge took everyone by surprise.

But what surprised everyone more was the reaction from the Crescent family and Gabriel.

They all stood calmly.

Gabriel moved to face her.

He knew his mate too much to try to deter her from a challenge that has been placed in front of her.

And as he expected Nitara's eyes were blazing with confidence.

"Take care, there is a little bean in there now."

Nitara smiled at him. This is one of the many reason she loves him.

"I will."

When Gabriel moved from front of her Shelby was already in her wolf for.

Nitara lunged down from the stage, changing into her wolf, in the wake tearing of the dress.

"Shit, i liked that dress."

Came a voice from behind her. Lena let out a wolf chuckle.

'Silly mate you are.' she told him through their mind link.

However she never diverted her eyes from her opponent.

Everybody in the backyard was shocked by the size of her wolf.

Even in her pack not a lot of people have seen her wolf. Everybody thought that as she was small her wolf would be small too.

Definitely not the case her though.

Hudson and Oliver have picked some finger food and were nibbling on it.

Both the she-wolves were moving in circles. Usually Nitara would be the one on offence side, but today defence will do.

'As our mate said we have to take care of our pup.'

A wolfish grin appeared on her face at the thought of her mate.

Gabriel was as mesmerized by the dark greyish wolf as he always was when she was in her human form.

The mud brown wolf didn't even hold a candle to the sun that is his mate.

He just watched as the brown wolf lunged towards his mate, but her being fast she dodged and took her left leg in the rear in her mouth, breaking it in the process.

The brown wolf wobbling tried to attack for the second time, but again Lena just dodged and attacked her on her own, clawing her stomach.

Shelby's wolf whimpered and fell down. Nitara just stood upon her with one paw on her heart waiting, more like daring for her to make a move.

Lena growled at the she-wolf.

Having no other option the mud brown wolf moved her neck exposing her throat in submission to the grey wolf.

She then left her lying there and started walking towards the woods.

She looked towards the people again, stopping when she spotted Gabriel and motioned him to come with her.

Without wasting a moment he changed into his wolf and followed.

He knew that she needed to calm down and he was the one capable of relaxing her.

She took him to a tree and lay down beneath it. Gabriel went upto her and laid with her keeping his head on her stomach.

There was something so familiar about this place.

'Shift.'

He asked her and did the same.

After shifting in their wolf forms, they both stayed the same way for sometime.

He wanted to give her as much time as she wanted to be in her head.

When he moved to sit up his eyes went to something that was scribbled on the trees trunk.

G+N

A memory blurry memory came back to him.

"We have met before."

"Hmm?"

Nitara came out of her thoughts.

"I have met you before you moved to our pack."

"How can you say that?"

"When I came here all those years ago and that girl rejected me, I was sitting in a secluded place when a little girl came wobbling and asked me why I was crying."

He smiled at her lovingly and after seeing her curiosity she continued,

"She didn't said anything just took my hand and pulled me along and brought me here."

Gabriel took Nitara's hand in his and was rubbing circles slowly.

"Then we sat down right here and she asked me what was wrong. Do you know what she said when I told her that my mate rejected me?"

Nitara was still confused so she just shook her head.

"She told me that she will be my mate."

"That is adorable." Nitara gushed about the little girl.

"Yeah, and look now she really is my mate."

Nitara's eyes widened.

"What?"

"Yeah, you even carved our initials in the tree with my pocket knife. Look."

He pointed to the scribble, Nitara looked and giggled.

Then she remembered.

"I kept it in my mind, but it just slipped out of my mind after my parent's death. I always wondered who the 'g' was."

They really were meant to be together.

There is no other explanation for this.
