Friend Affair: Tai X Scarlet (OC)

Dinner with Family

A couple of months have past and Tai's mother thought having dinner with Scarlet has been over due, so she planned to have Scarlet over for dinner but Scarlet didn't feel comfortable on steping foot into the apartment so instead she planned to have dinner at her condo, but Tai's mother will only agree unless she still does the cooking and Scarlet didn't object.

"Okay so I have every ingredient in the market so hopefully your mother can find what she is looking for"

"Are you kidding? You have a kitchen that looks like from a restaurant"

Tai said as Scarlet just laugh. They were sitting on the couch watching TV.

"When did your mother say she is coming over?"

She asked. Just then the doorbell ring signaling from the gate.

"That must be her"

Tai said as he changed the channel to the front security gate and saw his family in the car. He pressed another button that allowed the gate to open. In less than a minute everyone arrived, Agumon, Gatomon, Kari, Susumu and Yuuko. Guilmon happily took Agumon and Gatomon to the back so they can play. Tai, Kari and his father sat on the couch and talk while Scarlet set up the table and Yuuko does the cooking. Scarlet offered her help but Yuuko gently decline. In less than 30 minutes the food was done.

"Dinner is ready!"

She called. Everyone then gathered around the table as they sat down together, they each served their own plate and began to eat and share conversations.

"So Scarlet how's your family?"

Yuuko asked with a smile. Tai looked at his mother and quickly tried to signal her to change the subject. Scarlet looked straight ahead and then turn to face Tai's mother.

"They're fine just normal, I guess"

Scarlet then turned her head to Tai.

"And um Tai"

"Yeah"

He said trying to behave normal after he tried to signal his mother. Scarlet grinned.

"There's a mirror right there"

She said pointing the mirror straight ahead. Tai face palm.

"Sorry about that I just..."

"Its fine"

She said with a smile as she look to Yuuko.

"I'm surprise you were able to find everything you needed in the kitchen"

"Oh hahaha no worries but I am curious about something"

"What is it?"

"Why didn't we just have dinner at our home?"

Scarlet smiled quickly vanished as she turned to face Tai. Tai then immediately stood up.

"Mom can I talk to you alone?"

"Sure honey. We'll be right back"

She said as she and Tai went to the next room.

"What is it?"

"Mom could you please be careful on what type of question you ask"

"Why? What did I say wrong?"

"Remember when I told you about what I did to her"

"Yeah"

"I did it in my room and because of that she doesn't feel comfortable heading over to the apartment"

"Oh my gosh I'm sorry"

"Its fine just please be careful what you say"

"I wil, I promise"

Tai nodded as they went back to the dining room. Yuuko smiled as she sat down.

"So when should we plan our next family dinner, Scarlet?"

She asked with a smile. Scarlet smiled in return.

"How about this, every friday night you guys all come over for dinner and Mrs. Kamiya I would want to cook next time"

"That sounds lovely and no arguments here"

"Good because I would like you guys to try my Magnolia Beef"

"Sounds fancy"

Kari said with a giggle.

"So are you both planning to live together again?"

Susumu asked as he took a bite from his meal. Scarlet and Tai looked at each other with a blush on their faces.

"Um, we haven't talked about that, we're still dating"

Tai said scratching the back of his head nervously. Scarlet smiled and looked to Tai's father.

"Actually, Tai and I have been dating for about close to a year and a half now but it's not like we just met yesterday. I mean, I fully trust Tai now more than ever and I know this time he is sincere to his words. So may be after we do some talking then he can make his decision"

She said sincerely. The Kamiya's family smiled as they continued to eat but as for Tai his eyes remained on Scarlet, he was touched by her words. He gently placed his hand on top of hers getting her attention. She then looked to him as he leaned down to whisper into her ear.

"Do you really mean it, Scarlet?"

He asked in a whisper. Scarlet smiled and whispered to his ear.

"You know me better than that Tai, you know I wouldn't lie to your parents"

She said as she pulled away to give him a kiss on the cheek before taking a bite of her meal.

"I am stuffed"

Agumon said happily leaning back on the chair rubbing his belly.

"Me too"

Gatomon said with a smile on her face.

"Me three"

Guilmon said as he placed his head on the table. Just then Scarlet had went to the kicthen amd stepped out carrying a tray.

"I hope you guys still have room for dessert. I've made strawberry shortcake"

She said placing the tray on the table. Guilmon, Agumon and Gatomon head perked up at the mention of dessert.

"I can go for another round"

Guilmon said with a grin.

"Yeah because we don't want to be rude since you worked so hard to make it"

Agumon said with a smile holding his spoon.

"Besides we wouldn't want it to go to waste"

Gatomon said before grabbing her cup. Scarlet, Tai and Kari shook their head with a laugh at their digimon because they knew they could never turn down food whether their full or not. As everyone finished their dessert, it was time to say goodbye. Tai was gonna head home with his family, he gave Scarlet a goodnight kiss.

"We'll talk tomorrow about moving in"

Scarlet said as Tai smiled and nodded giving each other one last kiss before departing for the night.
