The Birthday Excuse

"Hey Keith, I cant seem to bipass this firewall," Pidge called out, tapping furiously on her laptop "It keeps overriding my code? It shouldn't be, the algarithim is the same as before and I dont see any errors."

Keith walked over to his bed, buttoning up his hawaian shirt and taking the bagel he had out of his mouth. PIdge snatched the bagel from his hand causing him to sigh.

"Well maybe because you forgot the bracket? Oh, and last time I did this i had to add an extra line into the algorithim because the firewall seemed to adapt to the original one." HE said, tapping in some code and then smiling once the confirmation screen popped up.

"There you go!" he grinned.

Pidge smiled and took a bite out of Keiths bagel before taking her laptop back. Lance, in all this, was packing up some essentials for their beach day. His brain was still running wild. So PIdge and Keith knew Shiro, Officer Matt and Captain Holt? Maybe they were related. Pidge does look alot like Matt.... he thought, staring into his backpack.

"So when is Hunk coming?" Keith asked, slipping on some sandals.

"Uhm he should be here soon, along with Allura." Lance snapped out of his thoughts and continued putting the sunscreen in his bag.

Keith crinkled up his nose and looked at Pidge at the mention of Alluras name. His sister held back a laugh which and Keith smile. He enjoyed having Katie near him, it made him feel more at home. There was a knock at the door which Lance raced to answer. 

"Heya Lance!" Hunk grinned, hugging his friend.

Keith rolled his eyes. He never understood why Lance tolerated Hunks behaviour. Maybe it was because Keith hadnt had friends of his own for a while, but he didnt understand why his roommate could forgive him so easily after practically ignoring him for a week. Hunk had been so distracted with his soulmate that he didnt spend time with Lance which caused him to stay at the dorm more.

"Hey Keith." Hunk greeted a bit nervously.

Keith nodded to him in greeting, Hunk was scared of him and he knew it. HUnk looked over to Keiths side to see Pidge, her round glasses perked on the end of her nose. She finally looked up and noticed the new person in the room.

"Oh! I didnt even notice he was here??" Pidge said, directing her comment to Keith.

Keith shrugged. And Lance rolled his eyes.

"Pidge, this is Hunk, my bestfriend. Hunk this is Pidge, Keiths sister." he introduced.

Hunk and Pidge shook hands, they were intrigued by each other. 

"You know anything about statistically calculating where the backdoor on a firewall is?" Pidge questioned, still holding Hunks hand.

"I know a thing or two. You know anythign about baking fudge cookies?" Hunk questioned.

"Maybe."

"Alright then! Lets see what you've got!" 

The two sat next to each other; their faces were hidden behind the small screen of Pidges laptop. Keith rolled his eyes and stood up, looking around for Bae Baes leash.

"Can we just leave now?" Keith groaned.

"No, we have to wait for Allura!" Lance snapped impatiently.

Keith never thought he could roll his eyes more in one day. But guess what? He did. He snatched his keys of his desk and dangled them in front of Lance.

"You see this? These are the keys to the vehicle that are gonna get us to your parents house. Allura is only an option, the only people that truly need to be in the car is you, me, Pidge, and Bae Bae."
