You Wont Believe This False Hope

"Keith?" Lance spoke up from his desk. 

Keith was still in bed, which was highly unusual seeing as it was already 1pm. Lance had now grown concerned. Maybe hes depressed that the school year is ending? Lance thoguht to himself. He couldnt think of something that would keep Keith in bed. 

THe raven haired roommate finally grunted in response and peeked over the covers that once covered him. 

"You alright?" Lance questioned

"Yeah" Keith croaked, hsi voice cracking.

Lance sighed and shook his head.

"Liar." 

"What makes you say im a liar? Im perfectly fine"

"Its 1 pm, you havent gotten out of bed except to grab that stupid book and you're barely audible. Are you sick?"

Keith scoffed and sat up. Lance froze up. His roomates hair was touseled, his skin was pale, and dark rings under his eyes. His lips were rosy red, almost like they had been tainted that way. 

"Dude... When was the last time you saw the sun?"

"Vampires dont like sunlight" Keith joked.

"Keith im serious."

"You keep calling me Keith, what happened to Mullet? I was growing accustomed to that.."

"Bro come on-"

"Have I ever told you Im undecided still. I dunno what I wanna be-"

"... Are you high."

Both boys seezed speaking. Keith stared at Lance and Lance returned the eye contact.

"Why the fuck do you think im high...?" Keith questioned, eyeing Lance.

"Because you're acting high. Your pupils are dialated and you make no sense at all."

Keith sat there and nodded.

"You right you right" was his simple response before laying back down on his bed and hiding underneath his covers.

Lance was now more concerned then ever. He didnt think his roommate would be the one for... Drugs or anything. There was a knock on the door. Shoot, he had invited Hunk and Elie over and now Keith was high and- and- god this was a mess. Lance went and got the door.

"You do not want to be here right now" he sighed

"You invited us over...?" Hunk looked very confused.

Lance looked over  his shoulder to see if Keith was watching.

"Keith is.. Keith is high. I dont know on what but hes so fucking high."

"How high?" Hunk whispered back.

"Like a kite."

Elie raised an eyebrow and pushed her way in. 

"No no wait-" Lance began to call out before retracting himself. This was not going to end well.

"Keith?" Elie called softly, sitting down on Keiths bed.

"Elie?" he whispered back

She nodded as Keith looked at her from beneath the covers. Elie grinned and ran her hand through Keiths hair. She felt his forehead with her hand and sighed.

"You have a fever, baby." she pouted in sympathy "Hunk, hun, can you get me a cold towel?"

Hunk obeyed his soulmate. Neither of them considered Lances obliviousness.
