" FUS!"
It echoed through the courtyard, My hair was blown back but I did not stumble. Several of the guards surrounding the yard jump, and a few readied their weapons.
" Again," I said, " When you use a shout, it becomes you. Let "Fus" take you over completely. Push against the space before you with the word. Do not force it, let it force you. Try." I remarked.
" I have been trying, but it isn't improving, by your standards at least. " Ulfric complained under his breath.
" I heard that. Try harder then." I said, crossing my arms over my chest and supporting all my weight on one leg.
" FUS!" he shouted again. This one was angry, and slightly better, but still not so powerful.
" That's enough for today. Your not improving upon anything more today." I said, turning to leave the courtyard.
I had been here for a week already, and we still had not learned any words of power other than " Fus". I was patient... A king? Not the case.
" Now hold on. You can't just give up on me. You sit here and insult me all day long and still I don't improve. Something tells me it's a bad teaching." He said angrily. I continued to walk away. I heard his heavy footsteps behind me, hot in their pursuit. " Who are you? What is your name? Why can't I see your face? Why do you know the Greybeards, and why did they teach you the Shouts?" He said all at once and very quickly.
" Who I am and what I look like do not concern you." I replied curtly. This was starting to anger me. I would not be interrogated by a child.
" Of course it does, I am High King of-" Ulfric was slammed backwards into the wall. The guards stationed along the hallway readied themselves for action.
" You are not High King yet. There is still a war to be won, and the Moot must decide on what to do with you. Do not put yourself upon a throne of lies, because I will be the one to knock it down Ulfric Stormcloak." I hissed, my throat a little sore from the force of the Shout I used on him.
He picked himself off the floor and said nothing, brushing by me to the throne room.
" What are you looking at? Do you need a stern word as well? " I said to the guard who approached me. He shook his head no quickly and scurried away in fear of a backlash.

" You're too brusque with him." A voice said from the doorway. I turned on my bed to look at Galmar, who wore only his curicass and boots.
" You must be stern with children Galmar, they won't learn anything otherwise." I claimed, looking back down at my book.
" They learn kindness." He countered, sitting in the chair next to my dresser. My room in the palace was nice. They had offered me a nicer one, but I chose to sleep next to the barracks.
" Being nothing but kind gets you nowhere. Just hurt." I said, getting up to make a potion on my alchemy table.
" You sound like you speak from experience." He said, fiddling with the flowers on my bedside. " These are lovely what are they?" He asked.
" Nightshade. And I do." I said simply.
" Got a tale there lass?" He asked standing up and walking near me.
" Everybody's got a story. I choose not to tell mine." I said, glancing up at him. Galmar was my only friend here, if that's what you want to call it.
" Can I at least get your name?" He asked.
" Wanderer. I'm not going to be here long enough for you to care, and you'll be thankful for that." I ended. I couldn't drag people into my problems again, it isn't fair.
Galmar opened his mouth to say something but was cutoff by a loud roar.
" Dragon!"

Galmar beat me to the gates ready to fight. The dragon was a large Blood Dragon, stronger and larger than the average dragon, but still an easy kill.
However, my efforts in keeping my identity secret would be moot the moment I Shouted the thing out of the sky.
"Soldier, status!" Galmar commanded.
" Sir! There is major damage to the exterior wall and the bridge! Citizens have been moved to lower wards and any able bodied man or woman have joined the fight!" The guard said, yelling over the roaring of the fire that caught to the structures around us.
"Take a team of men through the town and put out as much as the fire as you can, get a team centered on the wall with long bows and open fire." I said, watching the dark sky.
" You heard her do it!" Galmar said, pushing the soldier into the direction of the town.
" Galmar, I need you to take a team and fortify the the bridge front, I can take care of the dragon but I can't have people in the way. " I said, pushing through the groups of hustling soldiers.
" Wanderer I don't think-"
" I said I'll take care of it, just get my path cleared. " I finalized. At that moment a soldier came running up to us.
" Sir! King Ulfric has engaged battle with the beast single-handedly!" He said.
" Fool!"
"Idiot!"
Galmar and I both exclaimed.
" Get your men positioned I'll deal with it." I said running ahead.
" Wanderer!" He yelled.
I paused and looked back at him.
" Keep him safe!" He finished.
I smiled at him, but he wouldn't know that of course.
