~~~~~~~Ulfric P.O.V.~~~~~~~
My mind raced as I took in the new information.
" It makes sense. She's insistent about being around you." Asdis said, pacing the room. I watched her as she did, her lips pursed in thought.
" I don't think Elena is capable of that. Perhaps it is another maid." I defended, my brow furrowing deeper.
" Ulfric, you're just blinded by her because you've bedded her."  Galmar quipped as he brought his packed satchel into the room.
" I'm sorry, where have you been exactly?" I questioned, glaring at him.
" Bedding a pretty Bosmer. What have you two been doing?"
I glanced at Asdis who froze, her lip caught between her teeth. Galmar glanced between us suspiciously.
" Wait- Did you two-?"
" How are we going to make Elena admit that she's the spy?" Asdis interrupted.
" I can get her alone easy enough." I continued, wringing my hands under the table.
" I can tell you what to say." Asdis said, continuing her pacing.
" By Talos, you two slept together, didn't you?" Galmar proclaimed with a short laugh.
Asdis turned a deep shade of red as I coughed to cover up my embarrassment.
" Well, I guess you guys really aren't at each other's throats anymore. You'd be at each other's tongues." Galmar joked, clapping me on the shoulder.
" Can we just get back to the task on hand?" I said quickly, an attempt to change topics.
" I want to know, was it filled with anger? Maybe passion?" Galmar teased.
" Your lungs are going to be filled with your blood if you don't shut up." Asdis threatened, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips. Galmar sobered, fully knowing Asdis did not make empty threats. " Ulfric is right though, if he can get her alone we can question her.  This is speculation at best, so we can't just outright condemn anyone."
Galmar nodded in agreement before announcing that he was going to pack.
" You should pack as well, the sooner you get back to Windhelm, the sooner the spy is gone." Asdis said, shuffling her feet awkwardly.
" You're not coming with us?"
She shook her head, avoiding my eyes. " No, I will follow after. I promised Lancion and Silva I would spend time with them."
" Ah." I replied. Somehow I thought that Lancion and Silva were not the only reasons she was staying behind. I left the room to pack, seeing it as futile to try and convince Asdis to come with us.
Galmar said nothing as I entered the room, a sly smirk playing on his lips.
" Not a word." I warned.
He held his hands up in surrender before helping me pack.
It had been a month since we departed from Lakeview, and we gad not heard from Asdis. It drove me mad, knowing she was purposefully avoiding me. We had not gettwn any further with Elena, but we made sure to lock away plans and to speak in hushed tones. Galmar teased me every chance he got about what had transpired during his time away from the manor. I didn't admit it, but I thought about it often. Yes, it was an unforgettable night, but waking up next to Asdis and simply talking with her stirred something in me. A yearning.
" Jarl Ulfric."
I snapped out of my thoughts to look down at the woman who had brazenly walked through the doors unannounced.
