Chapter 8: 5...4...3...2...1...Let The Games Begin

>Cato’s POV<

            I smacked the alarm violently, making it fall with a loud crash, but didn’t break. Weird. Then I hear a morning moan and I look back to his eyes, shining in the bright sunlight. This might very be the last time I see Nate for awhile if we are separated. But I doubt it. I quietly and softly get my grasp off Nathan.  I get to the mirror and look at my body. “Nice butt.” A voice says. I look back, seeing Nathan still sleeping.

            Must be my conscience. Just when I was about to look back in the mirror, someone spanks me, and I turn around, and slap the person across the face, making him fall to the ground. I look to see Nathan not in the bed. I look back down, seeing his hand on his cheek. I kneel down, and ask in a really shocked, worried voice, “Oh my gosh are you okay?” He rubs his cheek and says, “Yeah. But thanks for hitting me on the day we actually have to kill, and you’re ruining our advantage.”

            I smiled and kissed his lips. “Now go put some clothes on so you can put your tools away.” Nathan hissed. “Hey!! I wasn’t the one riding up on it.” I said, grabbing a pair of underwear and sweats. I look at him on the floor, with his face red with embarrassment. I throw him a pair of his underwear and sweats so he doesn’t get cold.

            I opened the door and there was my family and Nathan’s family, already eating at the table, eating non-stop, especially Nathan’s brother, Niall. Then my mother notices me standing there and screams, “Cato!! I missed you so much!!” She sprints and hugs me knocking my back against the wall. “Hi mom. Don’t be rough. My body aches… from training.” Nathan sits with Niall,

            After saying hi and hugging my family, I sat down next to Nathan, and then Dev comes in with Clover and Sata. They sit in the stools just behind my dad, and Dev clears his throat, getting everyone’s attention, and even getting the attention of Nathan’s food eating beast of a brother. “I know you guys are nervous for these two, but I can definitely assure you that one of them will come back.” Well that doesn’t help.

(Hour Later)

>Nathan’s POV<

            “Goodbye mom.” I said, almost to tears. She holds my shoulders and says, “I know you’re afraid, but you have all the weapons you need. So fight.” I look at her and nod. I give her one last hug, and then hug my brothers, going into the elevator. Dev, Cato and I walk out to another sector of the building, and that I haven’t been in. We climb a series of stairs, and Dev pushes the door open, and there is a large hovercraft waiting for us. Cato and I immediately climb in taking our seats next to each other.

            We were the first ones there and then Katniss, Peeta, and Rue came in. “Hey guys!! Ready for today?” I asked. They smiled but went back to their worried faces. “Hey guys!! Don’t worry. Cato already has a plan to get our assurance of survival for a while.” They look at us and then Peeta says, “What is the plan Cato?” Cato the replies, “Well I already convinced 4 of the tributes to all meet at the lake, and they know each other will be there while I get the packs. Then that’s when, Rue, Katniss. Keep a distance and keep an eye on them, and Nathan will hopefully will be behind your with arrows.  Then Peeta and I will have a distraction, and Nathan, Katniss, you take them out with your arrows as quick as possible. I’ll call out plan Alpha for us. Anything else I call out don’t pay attention to.”

            We all nodded in agreement, and the other tributes were now piling in then Glimmer sat next to Cato and started talking to him. Then I looked seeing that she had his hand on his leg, and was flirting with him. Damn *****. Then Cato realizes what was going on, and moved her hand off and looked at me with a smile. I smiled back, and then put my head against his shoulder. He put his arm around me and sighed happily.
