>Rue’s POV<
Waking up, I hear the chirping of birds. I look over to see Katniss gone. I get up, seeing only Cato and Peeta, trying to start a fire. I then check one of the packs, full of reserve food and water. I then found a fire starter. I then gave it to Peeta. He smiled and then the fire started. “We have breakfast!!” a voice says. I look up and there is Katniss.
(30 Minutes Later)
“Okay guys, let’s head out. Marvel and Glimmer will probably have strong tributes to attack and come after us.” Nathan said after finishing his food. He then grabs one of the packs with reserve food, and grabs his bow and arrow. Then Cato’s voice says, “If they manage to attack us, Katniss, Peeta, Rue. You have to run while Nathan and I take care of them.” We all nod in agreement and head out of the cave.
It was a sort of misty and foggy day to day. It was pretty hard to see, but you could at least see objects at 250 feet away. Then focusing my vision….. oh no. It’s them. Then I say, “Katniss, Peeta. Let’s go!!” Katniss looks at and says, “What?!?! What’s going on?!?!” I point to where they were and Katniss’s eyes widen. She grabs Peeta, and we sprint to cover.

>Nathan’s POV<
“Katniss, Peeta. Let’s go!!” Rue say’s. I look over to her and Katniss says, “What?!?! What’s going on?” Rue points to what she was talking about. I swiftly move my head, seeing blurry human forms in front of us. Katniss grabs Peeta, and all three sprint to cover. “Ready?” Cato asks. I look at him, and give him a confident nod.
The human figures sprint to us, and I immediately try to reach my bow. Wait… I have the wrong pack. Aw damn. Peeta or Katniss must have it. Then out of nowhere a crate drops to my right side. I then rush to it and fling the cover open. It’s the sword!! Thank you old man!! I then strap the sheath around my back, with the sword in it. Cato then hands me a knife and throws his pack up into a tree, catching one of the thick branches.
He readies his knife and looks forward. The figures are clear. They are all very strong boys. All of them from Districts 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. They all look pretty tough, but not enough to intimidate me. Behind them was Marvel and Glimmer, with evil smiles on their faces. Then snapping out of my thoughts on how to wipe the thoughts off their faces, I then realize that the others tributes have surrounded us.
Cato and I are now back to back, moving around seeing who our first attacker it. Then the boy from District 10 comes at me, having his knuckle knives sharp. He delivers the first blow slashing my arm, and I return a kick to his stomach making him fall back. Then the boy from District 5 attacks and with my knife, I slash him in the cheek. Then he stumbles back and balances himself back, ready to attack again with the District 10 boy. I quickly look back, seeing Cato handling the boys from District 6, 7, and 9, and killing the boy from District 9.
When I look back, I get a kick in the chest, falling harshly on the ground. As the boy from District 5 tries to making the killing blow to end me, I then stab his leg, making him fall to the ground. I stand up, and slash my knife crisply across his throat, making blood spew crimson liquid out from his flesh. Then as he falls to the ground, I swiftly my knife at the District 10 boy, but he dodges.
