*Laura's POV*

I had just gotten off the phone to Kyle when Dan walked in through the front door. I walked into the living room to meet him. When he laid eyes on me he sighed. I stood there awkwardly in the middle of the room, I stared at the ground and I couldn't keep still. I anxiously waited to see his reaction...

Please don't be mad

Please don't be angry

Please don't be annoyed

He didn't say anything, okay, then I'll start.

"I guess you heard..." I quietly said dragging my words, just enough for him to hear, still staring at the ground.

"About the party? Yeah I did. Did you really plan it all on your own?"

I pursed my lips and nodded.

"It was supposed to be a surprise but I guess that failed." He smiled and came closer to me.

"You can tell me again, I'll still act surprised." A laugh escaped my lips, remembering that that's what I had said when his surprise didn't turn out well. He always remembers the little things.

"Hey Dan I've got a surprise party planned out for you!" I said sarcastically.

"Oh my goodness gracious me, you shouldn't have, never would I of thought you'd do such a thing." He sarcastic remarked putting on a fake posh accent. We both laughed along with each other then he placed his arms around me resting his cheek on my head.

"But really though you didn't need to."

"No I did, it's more of a birthday/thanks-a-lot-I-love-you kind of party. It's one of those parties where it has to be celebrated, like a tradition you know?" I smiled.

"Okay, so...what am I getting?" He smirked.

"The surprise has already been ruined, don't make it even worse. You'll find out tomorrow."

"Ugh...fine." He let go of me in a huff.

"So how was the lads night?"

"Good, we had a laugh, watched football, drank beer, you know manly stuff."

I scoffed. Manly. I picked up the newspaper from the coffee table while Dan made himself something to eat.

"I bet you were painting your nails, doing each other's make-up and curling your hair." I laughed but there was silence behind me. I started to feel self-conscious when I saw his reflection on the blank TV screen face and continuously stare at me. When he turned away I put down the newspaper and went to bed as slyly as I possibly could without looking back. I heard him chuckle behind me.

"You get scared so easily, it's hilariously cute."

"You are terrifying though I can't help it. God knows what torturous punishment you have lined up for me." I said when I stood in the hallway with my back to Dan. It was true, he was easily offended and whenever he got insulted he'd take it to the extreme, in my case, tickling me to the point I'm about to die. He turned back around and realised I was sneaking away from him.

"AND WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" He boomed acting like some tough guy, so much that it resembled Scott when I was walking away from him before he kidnapped me. My body started to shake, the flashbacks running through my mind repeatedly when I closed my eyes, like I didn't have a choice but to watch them replay over and over again. He realised after he began to chase after me but stopped before approaching me. Panic washed over me and my heart felt like it was going to pound out of my body, why was I acting like this?
