We decided to have a lazy/fun day the day after Dan was discharged from hospital. The last couple of weeks haven't been great so we planned a get-together day. Dan phoned Will, Kyle and Woody.
I watched Dan from behind the door as he got changed, carefully taking his t-shirt off revealing his burns that spread across his back, he groaned in pain. I couldn't help but to feel responsible for the pain he's going through. He noticed me at the door but he did nothing. I walked over to sit beside him on the bed. My voice was shaking as I tried to hold back the tears.
"This is all my fault, I'm so sorry." I rested my head on his shoulder. He searched for my hand and squeezed it tight.
"Don't dare say that again. None of this was your fault, you need to stop blaming yourself for things you didn't do." He encouraged.
"I'm sorry, it's just the type of person I am."
"And I love that person." He smiled. I looked at him staring into his eyes, he broke the eye contact by kissing my forehead.
"Does it hurt? Sorry, obviously it does, what person asks a stupid question like that." I mentally slapped myself in the face. He chuckled to himself.
"Yeah, it does, but I'm sure it will heal."
I helped him put on another shirt I chose out for him. We sorted out snacks, drinks and music for the guys coming over, we even had some board games in the cupboard if we ever got really bored.
Kyle was the first to come. I opened the door to his happy smiling face. Yet again I was smothered with his hugs.
"Lauraaaa! It's good to see you again. Right, let's get this party started." I laughed at him as he walked over to Dan then hugged him slapping his back, Dan groaned. Kyle was confused.
"Ugh yeah Kyle, Dan was in a fire the other day, he's kinda badly burnt on his back." I bashfully said trying not to make him feel guilty for not knowing. He placed his hand over his mouth then started to apologise over and over again. Dan forgave him being the kind and lovely person he is. When the rest of the guys came we all sat down and chatted, explained about the fire, laughed and even cried, because Kyle was acting like a complete idiot and I cried with laughter.
"Let's play a game." Woody said acting like Jigsaw from Saw.
"Sure what game?" Will said.
"TRUTH OR DARE." Kyle screamed. We all groaned in unison.
"Come on please it will be fun, I'll start, I choose dare, come on people give me a good dare." We were all terrible at this game, no one could think of a good dare, so we decided to look some up. There were plenty of questions like;
'Kiss the person on your left'
'Sit on someone's lap for the next round'
But we found one that was brilliant.
'Open the window and sing your heart out to Bohemian Rhapsody.'
He was hesitant at first, but after some encouragement, he did it. I got out my phone and started to record him and it wasn't long before everyone else copied. We were killing ourselves laughing as Kyle sang Bohemian Rhapsody to everyone that walked by on the streets of London. Dan released the video on twitter an got an immediate reaction.
He came back in with a red face and out of breath.
"Okay who's turn is it now." No one was speaking up. I hid my face behind Dan's shoulder trying not to be picked on.
"What about Laura?" Dan spoke up placing his arm around me thinking he was funny and everyone agreed.
"Ugghhh no, I hate you guys I don't know why we're playing this stupid game. Right okay fine, I'm choosing truth, I'm not embarrassing myself like that." I gently elbowed Dan for pointing me out.
