Derek hasn't returned any of my call and his wife, Savannah, hasn't called me again since the first call. Maybe he's just cooling things off. Maybe he'll be back soon. I keep telling myself. He's a very busy man, I shouldn't be worried.

I went out to do some shopping to try and clear my mind of everything that went on in the past week. I bought new shoes and a new skirt, as if that would fill the void in my heart right now. Forget about it Chloe...It's not healthy. I decided to get a new dress for tonight's dinner party. Something complimenting, yet sophisticated.

After I got a new dress, I called Chase to confirm that he was coming and what he was wearing. I'm such a mom to him. I know he appreciates it though. "Hey brother, I was just checking to see if you were all set for tonight." "Chloe....we need to talk." "Everything alright?" I asked worried. "Yes, everything is fine, but I need to talk with you. Your place in fifteen?" he suggested. "Okay, sure."

When Chase made it to my apartment, I poured us some wine and we sat down on the sofa. Chase looked me in my eyes and said, "Chloe are you in love?" I was so shocked by his question, that my face began to turn red. "W-What do you mean?" "Sis, we've always been honest with each other and I need you to answer my question. Are you in love?" "I think so..." I whispered. "Chase why are you asking me this?" He seemed on edge. "Chloe, please just listen to me okay?" I nodded. "I've been seeing Derek's wife for a while now. I didn't think much of the situation honestly because I was using her. But last night I saw Derek. He didn't know who I was. He was drinking a bottle of vodka. He said that he was in love and his wife was trying to tear his happiness apart. I only told you this because...Derek didn't know me, but I felt the love he has for you...Don't let your love die because of a bitter woman who can't accept the fact that her marriage was over the moment it started." Chase stopped talking and looked over at me. "Sis please say something" What could I say?? Derek hasn't said a word to me since he's left.

"Thank you," that's all I could say. "Thank you so much" I won't give up on my happy ever after. I won't give up on Derek. I'll fight for him.
