After a few minutes of scanning, she comes through the earpiece "Other than quite a few bruises, you seem fine. I'll heal those if you'd like."
"No!" I leap off the table so fast that Steve gives me a very strange look "Do not heal those!"
"Fine, I won't heal you! No need to shout!" She states "Freaking madman!"
"Sorry." I murmur.
"Whatever." she sighs "Listen, just get some rest. In a few days, you two can go try and find those people you think are there. I'm going back to sleep."
Once she's gone, I look up at Steve "So, where can a man find a drink around here?" I smirk, not actually expecting him to has any.
He walks only five feet away and tosses a beer at me "Drink up. Okoye said this was the best beer she's ever had."
Clearing my throat, I set the can down "I was actually joking... I don't really drink... not anymore..." I nod very awkwardly.
"Why?" He asks, taking the beer and cracking it open "I thought Asgardians like to party. Thor said you would have an Ale every once in a while."
"I'm pregnant." I state and he looks at me in shock "And I'm not Asgardian. I'm a Jotun. Both men and women can bare children."
"That's..." he shrugs and gives a look that screams 'I don't know what to say'. "Nice... Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?"
"Twin boys." I nod, before clearing my throat "Modi and Magni." I give a weak smile "I'm hoping they won't have horns."
He scoffs "Yeah, that would be hard to birth." he chuckles softly, before remembering "Do you like pop? We have pop."
"Sure." I smile and he walks back to the little fridge he got the beer from. As I take the can, I clear my throat "We actually aren't born with horns. They start growing when you're going through puberty." I pop open the can "Some of us can grow them, some of us can't. It's equivalent to the ability to grow facial hair."
"Are you their father or is it like asexual reproduction?" he asks, taking a sip of his beer with a loud slurp.
"No, my boyfriend is the father..." I clear my throat, before looking around the dimly lite room.
He smiles weakly "This boyfriend have a name?" he asks, leaning against the table behind him.
"He does." I lick my lips and look down "Look, I'm not ashamed of it. I'm just nervous about what other people think..."
He chuckles "Don't worry, you're not the first person I've met that's not exactly in a normal relationship." he takes a drink before remembering "Look at Natasha and Bruce!"
"Yeah, I know..." I scratch my forehead "Just don't immediately call us a freak." he shrugs and takes a drink of his beer "It's Thor."
After a long second, he shrugs "You're not his biological brother." I raise an eyebrow to him "Thor used to walk around here speaking long soliloquies like we weren't here." he scoffs " 'If only I could have saved you! I'd pay dearly to have you back in my life! '" he laughs "Natasha, Banner and I were betting that he just madly in love with you." he says dramatically, with a cute little soldier boy smile.
I sigh "Yeah..." before taking a long drink on my 'pop' as Steve called it. But, he is from Brooklyn, so it doesn't surprise me "My apartment is in Brooklyn." I smile and he looks up "Sorry, I didn't mean to say that out loud."
"It's already." he smiles weakly "I missed the way Brooklyn was when I was a kid." he clears his throat "I miss Peggy."
"Ahh, yes." I smile "The girl that stole your heart." I sit the soda by my side "Most have stolen her heart too. See how dashing you are." I scoff.
