"Loki." she smiles kindly at me "I was wondering when you'd come back for me. Did you get lost?" she jokes.
"Mother, tell me you're here to advise me?" I ask, sitting by her side "Or did you come to degrade me like the lot?"
"That's up to you, Loki?" she takes my hand in hers "Are you loathing or are you loving?"
"Mum?" I ask, looking at the ground "I've lost my way home." I shrug "I'm lost to myself." I explain "I don't know how to find myself."
"Loki?" she pulls my chin up and looks me in the eyes "You're way home, is Magni." he rests her hand on my cheek and I lean into it "You won't be you until you look into that little boys eyes." she explains "I didn't know myself until I looked into Balder's eyes." her face goes hurt.
"Your eldest child?" I ask and she nods "Followed by Hod?" he nods once more "Then Hela."
"Yes, Hela killed Hod when he was successer to the throne." she scratches her forehead "After she forced Hod to kill Balder..."
"I read about that somewhere." I whisper.
She scoffs "Of course you you did." she smiles "You always reminded me of Balder." She nods "Wise and gentle... at heart."
"That's how I wanted Modi to be..." I smile at her.
She gives me a puzzled look "Why not Magni?"
"That boy will be the spitting image of his father." I sigh, before shaking my head with a smile "Time will tell if that's a good or a bad thing."

At sunset, I step into the lab and look around the room to find Steve and Thanos changing a diaper with Clint's help.
Without a sound, I snick over to the bundle on the table and unravel it. His skin is grey and his eyes are black pits. In front of his mess of black hair, his forehead is stashed and concaved. An unanticipated sob escapes my lips and I grip the table for support as I tremble.
"Hey, don't like at that!" Thanos insist, walking over to me and pulling me away, only to get kneed in the crotch and a fist to the face.
Steve rushes over with Magni in his arms. He holds me back as Thanos gets up and pulls me towards him "I know it hurts." he whispers.
"How could you possibly know?" I cry out in agony and he starts to spout some bullshit about Gamora "Shut up you gigantic oaf!" they stare at me in shock and I growl and point to the rotting corpse "That was growing inside of me for six months! You have no idea how I feel!"
"Loki?" Steve whispers, backing away from me "Calm down."
"Calm down?" I scoff, turning to him "How dare you tell me to calm down?" I scream and he stares at me nervously.
"Okay, okay." Steve surrenders "Just, put the spike down." He commands and I give him a confused, before I look down and find I've formed an icy dagger.
With a sigh, I toss it from hand to hand and start towards Gamora's old tent, slicing the side out.
When I'm done, I walk back to Modi, and wrap it around his body, before tying string around his neck and feet.
After I'm done, I look down at the bag below me. In that instant, I know. I know this was a family curse.
What caused this curse, I know not. But dead be to the first son. Disability be the second.
What Magni lacks, I also know not. Rather it be sight, smell, hearing, taste or touch, I know he'll be loved. By me, at least.

As we near the falls, I grip the bow tighter in my hands. I will take the shot, seeing as I've had some training.
"So, how does this work?" Steve asks, sitting the basket on the hoverships flooring.
"Well..." I sigh, gripping the bow softer "I'll just have to show you." I clear my throat "Put him in the water."
Silently, he does and we watch in silence as the basket floats away.
After a few seconds, I light the end of the arrow and send it to the basket, which catches on fire as it nears the fall.
As it starts to topple over the end, I bat my eyes as the magic flows out of me. The basket lifts from the edge of cliff as I sit on the hovership, followed by the other two.
When the stars lift from the basket, the tears fall from my eyes. I sniffle as the basket drops and the stars ascend to the sky.
"Modi is in Vanhala." I grumble as the last star fades away. There's a shred of happiness warms me. He won't have to see how cruel the world is. Then the agony hits, knowing that I won't get to braid his hair or watch him become a father or get married. Magni won't have a brother to play with.
"Loki?" Thanos asks as the tears stream down my face. Magni makes a little sound and my heart flutters.
I hold out my hands to him and he hands Magni over, with a squill from Magni "Hello love." I smile weakly down at him through my blurred vision.
His blue eyes stare up at how and I laugh through a sob. My heart yerns to be closer to him, so I hold his tiny body against my chest. "You're so beautiful!" I cry as I hold him back a little.
When I kiss him, he opens his mouth and it fits to my mouth. After, I hold him to my chest and cry.
Nobody is taking my baby away from me.
~
"Can you say Mama?" I ask, sitting him between my legs.
It's been two months since we sent off. I haven't let Magni out of my sight at all. Steve and Thanos say they would watch him while I sleep, but I usually just sleep with him on my chest.
"What about Dada?" I smile tiredly as he stares up at me.
I haven't heard a word from Thor. Natasha tells me he's alive, but that's all I've heard of him. Wouldn't surprise me if he's on the other side of the world and with that Jane girl again.
It wouldn't surprise if he pushed me back into his shadow.
