By Your Side (Bakugo x Midoriya)

Chapter 2- Sleeping Beauty

Midoriya's Pov

I walked towards the door. That's when I heard something.

"Baka."

My heart pounds fast and I look back.

"Kaachan!?"

I went quickly to call the nurse. I told her that the boy in room 230 had waken up. She thanked me for calling her but then sent me away. I can't wait for tomorrow to come, the day when things will get back to normal. Just in time for our first day back to school.

When I got home I told everyone that I went to visit Kaachan and he said something. They all got happy and excited about the news so we planned to go visit him on the following day.

The next day

We got there but he was sleeping.

"Wait, I swear, he spoke with me yesterday."

"Oh, you must be the young man that comes here everyday. Well, Mr. Bakugo is not awake but he is definitely getting better. And he indeed spoke. After you left he said two more things. He sad "Stupid nerd." and "Die."." The doctor was explaining us what was happening but I got so disappointed that he was not awake...

"Does this mean he will be fine?" Kirishima asked. I think he is as worried as I am, after all they got pretty close.

"Yes. We think that, because of your friend there, Bakugo is getting stimulated. The nurses told me that young Midoriya comes here everyday and spends his afternoon speaking with Bakugo."

I blushed a bit. Everyone was looking at me.

"That's great Deku." It was Uraraka's turn to speak.

"Right now there is nothing else this institution can do for your classmate." The doctor continued speaking. "But we will let you know when he wakes up."

One by one, they all went away, throughout the afternoon. Before they went they all said something to Kaachan, hopefully expecting a reaction. After some hours I got alone again.

"Hey, Kaachan, it's just the two of us again." I looked at his closed eyes. "Now that I know you can hear me, please wake up. I'm begging you. We all miss you." Still nothing. "You should really wake up because until you do I won't go away, I'll stay by your side, annoying you."

I don't know why I think he would wake up if I spoke with him... It's just... He always shows strong emotions when we are together, mostly anger, but still, maybe if he heard the sound of my voice... What the hell am I doing? Things don't work this way.

The visiting hours ended so as usual I gave him a kiss on the forehead, I said goodbye and I went away.

I didn't want to go home, I just needed to think, so I started walking. Unintentionally I ended up on the beach, where it all started.

After a while I felt something touching me. For a moment I got scared, then I saw it was All Might.

"Midoriya shonen, I tried to call you but you didn't seem to be listening to me. Are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm sorry, I was just thinking..."

"It's Bakugo, isn't it?" I looked at him surprised. "He is the one occupying your mind right?" I nodded.

"He is still on the hospital..."

"You're afraid he wont wake up. And you're blaming yourself, for not being able to save him." All Might always seems to understand what's going through my mind and my heart. "It's not your fault, no one could have done better. Now it's up to him to fight and wake up."
