Ethan's POV

"Yo, Cameron!" I yelled , entering the house with Grayson next to me. We kind of got into a small fight. He has been really weird and somehow different these days. I want to find out what is on his mind, but he makes it very hard for me, since the kid won't let me in. All this times I have been testing him and his reactions when I mention Lauren. He gets all protective and attacking, which makes me think that maybe Eva was right..maybe something is going on between those two.

"What's up?" Cameron appeared from the kitchen , giving us bro-hugs. He looked better than before. At least this time he showered.

"How are you doing , Cameron?" Grayson sat on the couch , throwing his phone next to him.

"Um...better obviously. You know how is it..I am not really ready to face her , when school starts next week..Especially , if she cuts me off again when I ask her to get back with me." Cameron leaned against the kitchen door frame facing me and Grayson.

"Wait, wait.. What? You are asking Lauren to get back with you again? Bro, it is too soon." I gave him a concerned look. I looked at Grayson , who looked confused and worried about what he just heard. I know my brother.. he is about to get protective over her.

"Cameron, don't. It is really not the time. You haven't seen each other for a month. If she wanted to get back with you , she would have reached to you until now.." Grayson started talking very fast, almost yelling. Got him.

"Chill Gray.." I sat next to him, slightly punching his arm.

"I miss her. I almost lost her once..to lose her again..I really don't want to go through this." Cameron sounded desperate. There was pain, hurt , sadness in his voice.You know how someone sounds when they are about to cry? That is Cameron right now. It is heartbreaking really. I looked at my brother. Grayson was staring at his hands , playing with his fingers. He looked mad , but somehow unhappy and tensed.

"Hi, boys..Ou.. What is with the silence?" Eva entered the living room, giving us concerned look. I gave her the 'don't ask' look when she came closer leaning for a kiss.

"We are talking about Lauren.." Cameron mumbled.

"Of course.. What else could you talk about these days, Cameron?" Eva gave him a look and sat between me and Grayson. "What's up, Gray? Why do you look pissed off?"

I squeezed Eva's hand signalyzing her to shut up. She just ignored me , focusing on Grayson.

"I am just tired. Plus.. I am not really excited for school." Grayson let his head fall back, hitting the couch.

"Well, I don't think anyone of us is ready to be a senior, but hey..it is going to be a great year." Eva looked at us.

"By far ... it is not the best year I had. My girlfriend almost died-" Cameron began complaining when Eva cut him off again.

"I am throwing a party! This saturday! We can all say goodbye to our last summer as high school students properly and step into senior year with an epic hangover and stories." She smiled at us , waiting for our reactions.

"Does mom and dad know about this?" Cameron raised his eyebrow at her.

"Absolutely. They allowed me to .. I said that it would help you get out of your depression."
