Harrison and Nerris were walking through the halls of school. They both decided they'd skip their first class.

Harrison had stuck up for his Elfkin friend three more times. Now he had a black eye. "Seriously Harrison, I'm fine. If I just stay quiet, they'll leave me alone." Nerris explained.

"Are you just going to let them bully you like that?" Harrison replied. He was worried about Nerris. She wasn't like she was at camp. "Do you think I want them doing it?! I'm afraid that if I talk back I end up broken." She yelled.

"Broken? What does that me-"
"I don't want to get killed in this school Harrison! You haven't heard the worst of the threats! You haven't seen what else they've done!" Nerris yelled. She stormed off to the girls bathroom.

"Nerris wait! I'm sorry....." Harrison tried to apologize, but his friend was already gone. He decided to go to class. As much as he didn't want to, he needed something to take his mind off of Nerris.

"Ah, you must be Harrison. Class this is our new student. Who is late." The science teacher kindly yelled. The whole class laughed.

"Hey look! It's the black eyed Harrison!" Peter yelled from the back of the class. "Where's your little girlfriend?"

"Are you two talking about Nerris? She's never skipped my class. Anyway, I'm Mrs.Blu, nice to meet you Harrison. Now hurry along and take a seat." Mrs.Blu said.

Harrison had no choice but to sit near Peter. It was the only desk open. "Did you make your girlfriend disappear with that fancy magic of yours?" The bully teased.

That hit Harrison like a brick. After what happened to his brother. "Listen here, Peter. I may be new, but I know enough to know that you're just a stuck up bully. And for your information I could easily make you disappear." Harrison replied.

"Oh really?! Then do it! Make me disappear!" Peter yelled back. Harrison pulled a simple magic trick, and made him disappear.

"Oh my goodness! Harrison! Make him come back!!" Mrs.Blu yelled. "No can do, I haven't learned that part of the trick yet." Harrison responded.

The whole class was in shock. They were scrambling around looking for Peter. "Harrison. Office. Now." Mrs.Blu yelled at him.

Once Harrison walked out of the room, he found Nerris sitting by the door. "Oh, hey Nerris. Are you okay?" He asked. The Elkin nodded her head. "Where are you going?" She asked in reply.

"Just the office. I made that kid Peter disappear." Harrison explained. Nerris was in shock, just like the others. "What?! Make him come back!" She yelled.

"That's the thing, I can't." He said. Nerris looked at her friend like he was a different person. "Harrison.....why?" She asked desperately.

"He was being terrible to you and I He deserved it." Harrison said, trying to comfort Nerris. She shook her head. "No, he didn't deserve it. And I told you not to get in my business." She explained.

Nerris ran out of the school. She didn't want to talk to Harrison. But, Harrison wanted to talk to her. He wanted to apologize.

Nerris ran inside her house. Her mom and dad were at work, so she was there by herself. She started feeling something, something she hadn't felt before. Nerris admired Harrison for sticking up to Peter. She never thought anyone would stick up for her.

But Harrison did. Did that mean he cared? Nerris made herself a little lunch, because she missed it at school. After sitting down and calming herself, Nerris' phone rang. It was an unknown number, but she picked up anyway.

"Hello?" Nerris started.

"Is this Nerris? We need you down at the school this instant." Mrs.Blu said over the phone.

"Why? There's no point." Nerris replied.

"It's in concerns about your friend Harrison." The teacher explained.

"Ughhh, I'll be there in about fifteen minutes." Nerris sadly replied, as she hung up the phone. She really didn't want to go back. Especially if she had to talk to Harrison.

The magic boy was having trouble. Harrison's parents came to the school, they were scared of him. They didn't want to bring Harrison back home after what he did.

Nerris walked into the office. "Okay I'm here. What do you want?" She asked.

"We were going to ask you if Harrison could spend the school year at your house. Due to.....certain circumstances. It was per his request." Mrs.Blu told Nerris.

Harrison looked embarrassed, as Peter was also in the room. Apparently, he only disappeared to the town park.

Nerris' parents were also there. They got called too. "Nerris, honey, Harrison is going to be staying with us. Now you're going to mind your manners and be nice to him." Her mom said. Nerris nodded, not really meaning it.

"Sorry about earlier, Nerris. I should've respected your choice. I really am sorry." Harrison apologized. "It's okay, I forgive you." Nerris said.

"Okay, Harrison, now apologize to Peter." Mrs.Blu told him. "I already told you. He's a bully that only cares about himself. I won't apologize to that." Harrison snaps at her.

Peter flinches at Harrison's words. "I told you kid, I'm sorry!" The bully yells.

"It's not me who you should apologize to! I'm not the one you call a nerd and a dweeb every single day!" Harrison says as he points at Nerris, "That's who you should apologize to!"

Nerris blushes at Harrison's words. "Nerris, if kids have been bullying you, you should have told us." Nerris' dad said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Okay okay! I'm sorry Nerris the Nerd- I mean Nerris..." Peter says. Nerris nods and turns away.

"Thank you, Harrison, for sticking up for our daughter, when you didn't have to." Nerris' mom said to the magic boy.

"It was no problem. Anything for a friend." Harrison responded. Mrs.Blu lead Peter into the hallway. "Thank you for letting our son stay with you this year. We just need.....a break. Here's our address if you need it." Harrison's dad says as he gives Nerris' parents a slip of paper.

And at that, Nerris, her parents, and Harrison drove to Nerris' house.
