"What?"

"That's what happened." Nerris finished explaining. Her parents didn't look so good.

"So you're telling me a demon possessed my daughters friend, and tried to also kill my daughter?" The Elder One asked cautiously. Both Nerris and Harrison nodded. "I tried to protect her, sir. I did the best I could." Harrison said, a faint smile on his face.

The teens knew it would be hard to take in. Their parents almost had their children killed. Although, it was Harrison's parents fault, mostly. "Nerris, honey, are you sure you're okay? Do we need to see another doctor? Because what your saying doesn't make sense at all." Her mom said carefully.

This was expected. "Mom, I'm not crazy. I know what happened. In fact," Nerris partially lifted her shirt to show her scar on her side, "this is what happened. And it's also why I was in the hospital. Just consider it, okay?"

"Well, I suppose we should l-leave. Come on, Oliver, you'll get to see your b-brother later." Harrison's father said, standing and patting his shirt down. "But I want to stay with Harrison!" Oliver argued. "No, we're leaving." His mother said, grabbing her youngest son's hand.

And with that, they left. Without saying an actual goodbye. Harrison was used to this. But Nerris was throughly ticked off. Her parents were shocked about what their child just told them.

"Nerris, we are going to go unpack." Her father said. He didn't have his normal enthusiasm. The adults left the room. Harrison and Nerris sat on the couch in awkward silence.

"Well that worked." They said simultaneously, sarcasm lacing their voices. They cracked a small laugh. "My parents think we're crazy." Nerris said with a sigh. "But you showed them the scar, what'd they think it was from?" He asked.

"They probably thought it was just fake." She explained. When she was younger, Nerris faked injuries. Either that or they thought she hurt herself when she was transitioning to crazy. Most likely the latter.

"It'll be fine, Nerri. Although I'm worried about something else....." Harrison started. "What is it?" She asked.

"Shadow hasn't.....actually left. Our deal was, he would help me with my magic and get Oliver back. And I'd let him stay with me for the rest of my life. I can still feel the darkness there was before he hurt you. The only people I think can help are my parents....." He explained.

Nerris hadn't thought about it. "Well, it's been a while since he tried to take over. Maybe he finally backed off a little bit...." She hoped. "You're right. He hasn't talked to me yet."

As Harrison said that, he got a sharp pain in his side. That's where the scar was that Shadow gave him. "Nope. He's still here." He said with a small laugh. Nerris smiled, "If we dealt with him before, we can do it again."

Meanwhile, Nerris' parents are having a conversation.

"I'm telling you Hilary, that boy did something to our daughter!" Her dad yelled. "I can't believe that, Dawson! He also saved her from bullies! Harrison seems like a nice kid!" Hilary responds.

Dawson thought that while they were gone, Harrison had done something to Nerris. Because he can't comprehend what she told them. "When you were her age, you believed in demons and real magic. If the boy's parents can back up their story, then I say it's valid!" Her mom yelled.

"Maybe his parents are in on it! They just moved here, who says they haven't done this exact same thing thing in their old town?!"

That.....was a good point. There is no telling what they did at their past home. "But, we should trust that our daughter, Dawson....." Hilary said. He nodded. "I'll...give Harrison a chance....but you have to promise to keep an eye on him. Deal?" He asked.

"Deal."

Harrison and Nerris heard that entire conversation.

They had originally heard yelling upstairs. Since no one else was in the house, Nerris' suspected that her parents were arguing. She didn't expect them to be arguing about Harrison.

"They really think I'm a bad person. After what we told them. They don't even believe you." Harrison said, sort of upset. Nerris sighed, "I knew I shouldn't have told them the truth. I knew they wouldn't believe me."

"We'll have to make them believe us then."
