Zariah's POV
I woke up to my alarm, I didn't want to get up until I realized what day it was. I gasped and fell out of bed
"ow that hurt" I grunted painfully. I got up anyways and started getting ready for the day, eventually I skipped down the steps to see Jay and Lucas sitting down at the counter
"Morning guys" I said with a smile
"Happy birthday Zariah" They said at the same time
"Thanks guys!" I replied happily. "Oh and Jay can I talk to you in my room quickly?"
"Sure?" Jay questioned as he shrugged his shoulders and followed me
"So what is it little sis'?"
"My cat, when will she come out?"
"She will come out when you feel most connected with someone close" explained Jay
"Okay, thanks!" I replied as I walked into the kitchen with him "Lucas?"
"Yes Zariah?" asked Lucas
"Want to go for a walk? I feel like I need to get out of the house for a bit. And we can come back before breakfast" i asked
"Sure, besides i need to start getting out more"
"Make sure you two look after yourselves and Zariah, be careful" Said Jay and as he said the last 3 words it felt like he was staring into my soul but i know what he meant, be careful with Lucas finding out about you being a werecat. I glared back at him letting him know what he meant. Its this thing between us we both understand.
"Alright lets go Zariah" insisted Lucas
"Okay, im coming" but before i could move i felt my cat emerging
"Zariah? Come on"
"Um, just give me a m-minute" i stammered as i walked upstairs to my room. I closed my door and locked it so no-one could get in and then i let my cat take over and when i looked into a mirror through my cats eyes i saw a beautiful snow leopard cross tiger with wings. 'So the legends are true' i thought. Then suddenly i heard a knock on my door and Lucas's voice. I then smelt a scent and my cat just said "mate"
I couldnt even move, Lucas is my mate and he's a werewolf. I was alright with it because i started to love him anyways. My cat let me take over and become human again, i was surprised to see my clothes in one piece but i walked to my door, unlocking it and opening it
"You feeling alright Zariah?" he asked
"Yeah, im fine. Now that walk?" I replied
"Sure, besides i need fresh air other than stinky house air"
I giggled at what he said and quietly told him "Come on. lets go for a walk, besides. We might be able to see Katelyn again if we're lucky" i smiled at him while he was blushing at the change in my voice.
"Lets just go" he stuttered quietly
"Alright" i walked after him out of the house and before walking out i mouthed to Jay 'I'll show you my cat form when we get back' and he nodded.
"You coming or what?" asked Lucas
I just poked my tounge out at him yet he just dragged me a bit until i started walking myself
"Was the dragging necessary Lucas?"
"To get you out of the house? Yes"
"About time you two!" Yelled Katelyn as she looked at me. Then she gasped
I sighed at her actions "No katelyn, we arent dating" i mouthed to her that i would show her my form later like i did with Jay but i doubt that it would work with her
"Aww, okay" she sighed
"Wait, she wants us to be together?" questioned Lucas
I just nodded and he almost couldnt talk, it was kinda funny but i help back my laugh
"You shouldnt laugh at our mate Zariah, he will look after us when he knows us" said a calming voice
"Huh? Who was that?" i asked
"It was me, Mireya. Your cat, and i chose you because you have a pure heart and you are a fast learner yes?" she asked
"Yes, i am a fast learner. But may we please have this conversation later? My friends and our mate are starting to get a bit worried"
"Alright. But dont forget that i can read your mind since im in your mind!"
"Okay Mireya"
"Zariah? Are you okay? You blanked out for a few minutes" asked Lucas
"Im fine Lucas" i replied as i smiled sweetly at him
Katelyn's POV
I saw Lucas and Zariah approach me out of the corners of my eye
"About time you two" i yelled as i looked at Zariah, i gasped and she came up with the excuse of
"No Katelyn, we aren't dating" she sighed but she mouthed to me that she would show me her cat later. I was so excited to see it! I couldnt stop thinking if it was the werecat from the legend or just a regular werecat. I didnt know but i was excited
"Aww okay" i sighed
"Wait she wanted us to be together?" questioned Lucas. Like normally he asks a million questions.
I saw Zariah just nod at his question and it looked like she was holding back a bit of a laugh
She knew Lucas didnt like being laughed at.
"Katelyn, please dont do anything with us. Please" begged Lucas
"How about we ask Zariah, see what she thinks" I asked smirking already thinking of a ship name for them.
"Zariah? What do you think about what we've been talking about?" asked Lucas while keeping an eye on me
"Hm? Zariah? Hello?" i questioned
"Zariah? Are you okay? You blanked out for a few minutes" asked Lucas
"Im fine Lucas" she said with a sweet smile
'What are you hiding behind that smile Zariah?' i thought to myself 'you could be talking to your cat but still! She had us worried for a bit
"Lucas can you excuse us for a bit?" i asked
"Um, sure?" he replied hesitatingly
"Thanks!" i grab her by the wrist and drag her around the corner "are you mad!" i whisper yelled
"What do you mean!"
"You know what i mean! You talked to your cat for a bit! Whats her name! Tell me or i force you to spill"
"Her name is Mireya, she's a snow leopard cross white tiger"
I gasped loudly i almost squealed until she covered my mouth
"Not a word to Lucas about what i just said and what im about to say. Alright?"
I nodded
"Lucas is my mate but he doesnt know im a werecat and i want to keep it that way until his birthday"
I nodded again and she let me breath through my mouth once more. We walked back to Lucas and he wouldnt stop worrying what happened
"What happened? Are you both okay? Please tell me" asked Lucas
"Everything is fine Lucas" answered Zariah smiling softly.
They looked so cute together and now fate just proved it and Zariah believes in fate so i win
Lucas's POV
Katelyn is slowly starting to tick me off, i mean she's trying to get me and Zariah together. I guess it cant be that bad but they are acting a little suspicious.
"We should get home, besides dont you want to see your presents?" i asked
"Okay" she replied with a sweet smile.
We started walking home and i opened the door for Zariah but what we saw stunned both of us. What i thought wouldnt happen happened.
