Zariah's POV
"Morning Cora" I smiled to the sleepy white haired girl.
"Morning Zari" She yawned as she sat next to me in the kitchen.
"There's coffee beside you" I said moving a cup to her and she picked it up drinking it immediately. I giggled and got up grabbing a hair brush as i brushed her long white hair smoothly.
"Thank you Zari" She said giving a sleepy smile.
"My pleasure C" I grinned and i hugged her from behind and walked into the living room and i picked up my phone to see a missed call from Lucas 2 minutes ago. I dialled the number and he answered.
"Where are you? I've been worried sick!" He exclaimed
"I'm at a friend's place, I've been here since last night and i wanted to spend some time with her because i haven't seen her since my 13th birthday" I said.
"14th!" She exclaimed correcting me.
"yes, yes, 14th birthday" I giggled and she gave a sleepy face.
"Okay Cora, go get ready and if you don't i will tickle you awake" I said and she walked to her room getting ready.
"You sound like a mother to her" Lucas chuckled
"I feel like one to her because she's in a sleepy state of mind" I laughed making him laugh.
"Hello? Cora!" I heard Zephyr's voice ring out.
"Zeph!" I squealed opening the door and hugging him. Zephyr is Cora's older brother that i think of my own brother. Even though i have two older brothers.
"Zariah!" He grinned hugging me
"It's been ages!" He grinned leaning in to kiss me but i slapped him instead.
"Don't you dare" I snarled and he put his hands up in defence as Mireya let out a yowl of protest of his being this close to us.
"Zariah! What is your address right now? I want to come over" Lucas said and i heard Damien growling.
"5th Phoenix Avenue" I said and he hung up on his way.
"Who were you talking to?" He asked
"wait till he shows up" I said and he nodded putting an arm around my waist holding me close and Mireya let out a loud yowl of anger.
"What was that?" He asked
"I don't know" I lied and Mireya mewled in confusion. I heard a knock so i answered to reveal Lucas. I smiled and let him in and i sat down and Zephyr sat next to me holding his arm around me.
"Okay that is it!" I yelled angry.
"Zephyr you keep your hands off of me!" I snarled.
"What? Can't i make moves on you so then I will be able to get you to be my girlfriend?" He asked innocently.
"No!" I exclaimed and Cora came down.
"I have a boyfriend Zephyr and i am not going to leave him!" I exclaimed again and i sat beside Lucas.
"What's your boyfriend's name?" Cora asked innocently to play along.
"His name is Lucas and i'm sitting next to him" I said and Zephyr growled forming into his wolf Jax.
Mireya's POV
He growled forming into his wolf and I immediately took over yowling and growling. Damien took over too snarling.
"Stand down!" i growled
"No!" Jax growled
"You will stand down now or you will feel pain and quite a bit of it" Damien said stepping closer snarling and he stood shocked.
"O-of course D-Damien" He stuttered.
"How do you know his name?" I demanded.
"Before my person now, I was with a man named Logan, he used to make me do his bidding or he would hurt our mate who's name was Kassandra, As you both know, The pull for the mate in our forms in unresistable so seeing her on pain i did what Logan wanted, Kill you both. So i did, But i died from your protecters. Perla, Dario and Elias, I am sure they are alive and well in Telluride, Colorado" He explained and we nodded.
"Thank you for this, Jax. But please, Keep your paws off of me and Zariah, same goes for you Zephyr" I said and he nodded forming back to his clothes ripped so i closed my eyes as he got dressed quickly.
"This is why i prefer to not form like that Jax" Zephyr muttered and Damien let Lucas take over but i stayed me as i liked to be out since i haven't been out for what seems like forever. I padded up to Lucas and jumped onto him as he sat on the couch and I curled up on him.
"Do you ever wonder if we will be able to live in peace in the future?" Zariah asked me
"I'm not sure but i hope so, I don't want to deal with problems all the time. I just want to have a relaxing life with you, Damien and Lucas" I said softly
"I agree, Life is too crazy for me and i'm only 16" She laughed
"Yep, But hey, At least you aren't alone"
"True, I have you, Damien, Lucas, Zendaya, Alpha Liam, Jay, Millie, Cameron, Katie, my mother Kassandra, Naomi, Liz, Katelyn, Cora and many more influences. I just wish that wars ended in this world but i guess that wont ever happen" She said sighing at the end and smiling at the start.
"We can hope at least" I said
"You're right. And we can keep high spirits too" She smiled and i nodded pulling back into reality.
The stars shone against the dark blue sky of the night as i looked out the open window. An icy breeze swirled through the air in the worn down house. Snoring of a male echoed through the house that seemed to be dead silence. I got up walking to the window and looked out at the town full of night life. I could hear the music coming from a few houses away as snow fell lightly onto the grass in the backyard. I looked over to the calander. First day of November and Winter. Which means Christmas is soon. I just sighed at the thought if the jolly holiday where you give and get gifts. Christmas is around about the time that i got murdered in my last life. It's always been that way and i bet it's going to happen to Zariah too. I never get to Celebrate any holidays because i'm always fretting for my life along with Damien.
"What are you doing awake at midnight Mireya?" A voice asked. I turned around to see Damien.
"Just thinking about Life" I said
"I know you're worried about this season. Its the season where we lost our first kid in our last life" He said softly. Freya, i remember her clearly. She was a mix of both of us. I absolutely adored her and i vowed to protect her with my life but she was killed during the night due to a wolf hunting us. He was 12 feet tall and a monster. We gave him a run but he caught us due to the smell of the blood when i had Freya. He stayed hidden though.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring her up" He said softly
"No it's fine. I like to remember her. She would've been a wonderful lady right about now" I smiled snd he did too.
"But what's got you thinking?" he asked
"It's the first day of November and winter. It's close to the time when we normally perish" I said.
"We won't let it happen" He smiled and i nodded
"Besides, we're strong" He grinned.
"You are. You can fly properly and use your powers! I can't do either! I'm just a waste of space because i can't do anything" I said quietly and he nuzzled me
"Don't speak that way. Everything will be fine" he said and i nodded slowly and he smiled kissing my cheek so i kissed him
"Thank you Damien" I smiled and he did too.
I looked back out to the town to see a large flame erupting in the middle along with screams of horror and pain. A laugh echoed throught out the town though. Not nice, nervous or anything like that. Evil.

Sorry i took so long for this! I was tired this morning from waking up to thunder and lightning in the middle of the night, i'm not too fond of the sound either.
