"Bye Sammy."

"Bye guys." I wave to the three siblings I've grown so close to. I close the door after they leave and lean my back against it.

"Well someone's very smiley." Dennis says walking around the corner to go upstairs. I smile even bigger and run over and hug him. He's startled by my sudden display of affection which is normal considering the fact I never said a word to him when I was growing up let alone hug him.

"I'm sorry I always seemed like I hated you when I was younger." I say to him. He hesitantly hugs me back.

"Don't worry about it." He says. I let go of him and smile at him before running off towards the kitchen.

"Weird girl she is." I hear him say to himself as I run off which causes me to giggle. I get to the kitchen and I sit in the bar stool by the counter.

"Well hello there. What's gotten into you?" My grandma says when I sit down.

"Oh nothing. I've just had a really great day." I say still smiling.

"What happened?" My grandma asks.

"Well we went to the beach and got ice cream. Then we found a good spot for our stuff and we swam. Then we came back." I said leaving out the most crucial part of the reason behind my excitement.

"There's something else. Spill it."

"Ashton asked me out on a date!" I gush to her.

"I knew it would happen sooner or later." My grandma says as she walks around the counter to envelope me in a hug.

"I'm afraid if I keep smiling my face will be permanently stuck like this forever." I say. My grandma laughs and so do I.

"After your date you are to let me know of everything that happened. I may be your grandma but this is exciting. I'm happy for you." She says. My grandma is such a teenager sometimes it's freaky.

"I will. I have to go call mom." I say running off again before she can say anything. I run up to my room and plop down on my bed, dialing my moms number. It rings twice and then she picks up.

"Hello?"

"Hi mom!" I squeal.

"Hi sweetheart. Are you ok?"

"I'm better than ok. I'm fantastic!"

"Why's that? Does it have something to do with this Ashton boy you were telling me about a few days ago?"

"Yes!"

"Well tell me!"

"He asked me out on a date!" I exclaim.

"He has all the right intentions right?" My mom questions growing serious.

"Yes mom." I say. Well that killed my mood a little.

"I'm just making sure." She says. "So when is this date, so I know when to call, and where's he taking you?"

"He's..well actually I don't know. I'm going to call him, or should I? If I call him to ask will it seem like I'm too clingy? Mom I need your help!" I say.

"Just let it be. I'm sure he'll let you know what he's planning." She says. I let out a breath and lay back on my bed. After that my mom and I talk for about two hours just catching up on everything that's been going on since I left. We then hang up after I promise her that I'll call her after my date. Her and my grandma are going to gossip about this forever.

I get up and leave my room to go see what's for dinner. I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to see my grandma slaving away.

"What are you making?" I ask her.
