Mankind has advanced far ever since the end of the Second World War, the introduction of the atomic bomb, laser guidance system, active protection and to the peak of researching a railgun. A weapon system that uses electromagnetic power to fire an object at a certain speed to deal massive damage.
Prototypes were implemented on modern Destroyers, leading the race was the United States and then China. However, the Fleet of Fog had arrived before the plans for mass production began. The plans for a new Navy was scrapped at the expense of protecting each country's safety.
The Chief Armament of the I-417 knew this, the potential of the weapon and it's effects to those fired upon. With help from Izumi, he is able to realise that potential and use it for their advantage in establishing communication from Europe.
The submarine currently rests by an island, maintaining stealth using an equipment given by the British, stealth coating which is useful when stationary. Using meta-material the British had been successful in their attempts to lessen casualties on their Submarine Fleet.
Hiyou was out on the deck, with a binocular in hand and looking out towards the sky and listening to any signs of their package.
"Sonar readings, zero. Air radar, no movement. What's the status of the railgun production?" the XO inquires as he types down on his keyboard.
"Building process, 67%. Estimated time of completion; 20 minutes. Using salvaged nano-materials at an average rate."
Izumi reported as blue rings circled her, she was constructing the weapon that Zenji mentioned of and following the direct design of humanity's very own railgun while adding a special feature to it, similar to the Chief's favorite show.
"I can't wait to see the end results. Another version of the Wave Fusion Cannon." the Chief himself commented with excitement, keeping track of the construction and making sure there are no complications to the design.
"Air radar picking up two contacts, must be the airlift."
Two large transport aircrafts came into the airspace and spots the designated location, they opened their tail doors and drops the packages with parachutes and turns back towards Britain.
"Package inbound. Phase 1 complete, we will now await for the weapon to be constructed."
Hiyou exhaled in relief, the plan was going accordingly and when everything is complete, they could move on to secure safe passage out from the English Channel.
He nodded to himself and passes command to Haruhiko, contemplating of going onshore to check on their package.
"I'll accompany you, Hiyou-kun." Misa replies on the channel and the Captain accepts it.
The two got onto shore with a RHIB provided by the Royal Navy, a standard small craft used for personnel use. The submarine turns into alert mode with the Captain and Propulsion Officer absent from their post.
"We're getting closer to France. I can't wait to meet people there, especially in Paris." Misa as usual starts the conversation, sitting at the front seat of the RHIB while Hiyou drives it.
"If there are actually people in the city.. they might be deeper inland so it'll be common to see military presence close to the coast."
They stopped at the beachhead and the Captain took the lead, he extends his hand to offer help for his friend. She accepts it and got off, slightly making skin contact with Hiyou.
"Alright, good to go?"
A simple nod answers the lad's question and they ventured the island in search of the package, knowing that a precise drop would take too much time for the transports so it was best to converse their fuel to return back home.
