Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Butterfly Effect - Fateful Meeting and the Blockade
Beyond the walls that surrounds Yokosuka Port lies the open seas and the Fog and it's Oriental Fleet managed blockades created after the end of the Great Battle. Even so, the people lives normally as if all the conflicts till now never happened. Without sea cables or raw resources, they relied on solar energy, wind turbines and water turbines for electricity.
A boy stands outside on the docks, looking at the blue skies and the chunks of white clouds passing by. He wore a typical white uniform as a fellow member in the Maritime Institute Facility, his dark blue hair neatly covering his bangs.
"Hey, Hiyou-kun. What are you doing out here?" A voice interrupted the lad.
Hiyou pivoted and gazed at the brunette with his royal blue colored eyes who was standing before him.
"It's quite obvious for you."
The brunette grinned, "Sorry, I just enjoy asking people what they're doing."
She made a hand gesture and walked back towards the institute, Hiyou followed her and entered the facility as he tried to keep his pace beside her.
"Don't you think that your habit of asking would annoy others?"
"When I say it is, then it's annoying."
The lass puffed her cheeks, she stopped in front of the briefing room and opened the door.
"Oh, glad you two could make it in time... Hiyou, Misa."
A boy with black hair and yellow eyes greeted them, being seated in front of a computer. Sitting next to him was a redhead with hazelnut colored eyes.
Misa walked up to her seat and sat down, "I had to pick up our 'boss' from the docks."
Hiyou took his seat and stared at the two boys, he leaned back and waited for their meeting to begin.
"Alright, so we're all gathered here to discuss about the project being conducted by the JMSDF last year." the redhead started.
The black-haired boy added, "It's about the 3 Hakugei-class submarines. They said it could stand up to the Fog with sophisticated technology and armament."
Misa rested her head on her palm, spinning a pen with her fingers.
"There's no way it would work. Haruhiko. And don't even start on giving out the special features, Zenji."
She said to the redhead named Zenji and the other boy, Haruhiko. Picking up a tablet, she showed several pictures taken by a stealth American satellite of a Fog light cruiser.
"We can't even touch them with their Klein Field activated. One single light cruiser can destroy a fleet of AEGIS ships and carriers. How do you expect to have these submarines to work when they can't even fight back?"
Hiyou raised his hand, "Misa's right. We're submarine crews and we know what the Fog are capable of. There is no guarantee that these vessels could destroy or bypass a Klein Field."
The entire 3 hours were only debates for the project and it's probabilities of success. They were dismissed when the sun finally sets and night invaded the port.
The young man took a stroll around the port, and he checked the warehouses first. There used to be cargos kept inside the warehouse and many more before the appearance of the Fog. Hiyou still remembered that he went here with his father and brother to observe the cargo ships sailing out from the port.
"It's been 9 years since I last went here... I wonder if there's still leftover supplies." he went from one warehouse to another, but his eyes caught something interesting.
