Loki's P.O.V.

My world stopped spinning when my eyes landed on my wife. Sera's life filled skin started to fade to a pale color and her eyes were looking at something none of us could she. She was still hovering over the blue woman and had a shimmering knife poking out of her back.

"Mom!!" Sofia screamed, crawling into her brother's shaking arms. I wanted to scream, shout, curse, but I couldn't. The blue woman pushed Sera off to the side and my wife crumpled to the floor. I sat on my knees and narrowed my furious eyes at the blue creature. She smirked and her yellow eyes dared me to move.

"Darn you Mystique!!" Tori growled, planting her feet firmly on the ground. Three gun shots erupted in the room and the blue body fell lifeless to the floor. I ignored it and crawled my way over to Sera.

Her brown eyes were looking up at me but I knew they couldn't see her. The dagger inside her chest moved irregularly along with her lungs. I lowered my head and rested my ear just above her nose. A very distant and gentle air still existed and it brought hope to my heart.

My green eyes saw all the blood oozing from her wound and my hands landed on the brown handle. "Don't pull it out!!" Brooke warned. I looked at her like she was insane. "If she has any chance to live, we need to keep it inside her otherwise she will die from blood loss." The woman in the blue and golden iron suit flew to my side.

"Give me your hands." I was too scared for my wife to question her and did as was told. She extended her pointer finger and a small red laser cut through the metal that bound my wrists. I nodded and leaned back over Sera's almost lifeless body.

Just then Peter and Steve burst into the room. "We took care of the first round of guys but we really need to go!" His voice wavered when his eyes landed on Sera. "What happened to Sera?!" Peter asked Brooke frantically.

"Long story, like you said we need to leav-" Before Tori could finish, a high pitched beeping pierced our ears. We all cringed and looked for the source. When my green eyes landed on the blue body across the room my heart fell even more.

"She turned herself into a bomb." Levi announced, following his sister down the hole in the ceiling. "Maniac." Tori hissed, almost like she had experience with this person.

"I assume you two knew each other?" Sofia asked, silent tears rolling down her cheeks. Tori kept her icy glare on the body. "It's a long story, I'll explain later." With that she rushed out of the room.

Steve, grabbed Sam's sleeping body while Peter carried Scott. Brooke followed the men out the door but my twins lingered. "Get out of here, I'll catch up." I instructed, pure fear in their eyes shattering my heart.

I looked down at my wife who was fighting for her life and now realized I had laced our fingers. "Go!!" I yelled, knowing my children had stayed behind. The raise of my voice had gotten them out of their trance and they both sprinted after the group.

I looped my arms under Sera's knees and arms. I planted a kiss on her freezing temple and kept my tears at bay. "Just keep breathing!" My whisper seemed to echo in the halls around me as my feet moved as fast as they could.

It wasn't long before I caught up with my group. Brooke was flying in the air and blasting anything that was in our path. Her repulser knocked the door off it's hinges and we all sprinted into the cold night air.

We soon reached the tree line and that's when the explosion happened. Large balls of orange and red fire swirled behind us and cast a glow on the shadows in the forest. I could feel the heat on the back of my neck and saw small pieces of debris land around us.
