As I wake up, I can't breathe. I'm choking on something. I open my eyes and see that I'm in the hospital. I forgot. I hold my throat as I choke on something going all the way down my throat. I feel someone hold my throat and take out whatever I was choking on. I cough and take deep breaths. My throat hurts so bad. I look at the lady who took the thing out of my throat. "Are you okay, Riley?" She asked. I cough some more and nod. She puts a breathing mask on me. I take deep breathes. I turn my head and see Daniel on his bed. He looks concerned for me. "Hi, Riley." He said oddly. Like he hasn't seen me in forever. We were just talking a few hours ago before I went to sleep. "What was I choking on?" I asked in between breathes. "You were choking on a tube." The lady said. She's a nurse. "A tube? Why was there a tube in my throat?" I asked. "It helps you breathe." The nurse said. "Was I having trouble breathing? I've only been asleep for a couple of hours right?" I asked the doctor. She becomes silent. I look at Daniel. He avoids eye contact. I look at all the boys and Daniels family in the corner. Corbyn walks over to me and holds my hand. "I want you to tell me." I said to him. He me in the eyes. He's so cute. "You weren't asleep for a few hours." He said. I'm confused. "What do you mean?" I asked. He sighs. "You've been asleep for seven days." Corbyn said. I start to hyperventilate. I can't breathe. The nurse puts the mask back on my face to help me breathe. I take deep breathes. Corbyn rubs my head as tears fall down my face. "Calm down. Breathe in and out. In. And. Out." He said. I calm down a bit. "I'm gonna have the doctor come in and check up on you. Welcome back." The nurse said walking out of the room. She smiles. I look at Corbyn. "It's okay. You're okay." He said. I take one last breath with the mask until I can breathe on my own again. I take off the mask. I turn my head and look at Daniel. "Daniel." I said. He looks at me with sympathy. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." I said. "Don't be sorry, Riley. All I care about is if you're okay." He said with the sweetest smile I've ever seen. I smile. "Thank you." I said. He looks at Keri. She's looking at me. "We're glad you're back, hon." She said. I smile. "Thanks." I said. Anna walks over to me. "We've been here for you the whole time. Don't worry. You weren't alone." She said. I smile. "Thank you guys for always being there for me." I said to the whole room. They all smile. "Of coarse. We love you, Riley." Zach said. I smile. A tear streams down my face. I wipe it. I've never been this loved and I love it. The doctor walks in. "Hey, Riley. How you feeling?" He asked. "Fine. I'm a little hungry." I said. He smiles. "That's a good sign." He said. He walks over to me and does a check up. "You're all good. Perfectly healthy." He said. "Then why'd I go into a coma?" I asked. "Probably because your body needed rest." The doctor said. That makes sense. "Just get some more rest, okay?" He said. I nod and he leaves. "See! You're healthy!" Jack said. I smile. "Yeah." I said. All these good things happening to me, I expect something bad to happened real fast. Corbyn sits on the bed next to me and rubs my head. I close my eyes and fall asleep.
