When we get to the hospital, I ask the lady at the desk if I can see Daniel. She tells me his room number and we all walk up the stairs to see him. When we get to the room, we open the door and see Daniel sleeping on the hospital bed. It reminds me of when we were both in the hospital. I see Keri and Jeff sitting on the couch next to the bed. "How is he?" Jonah asked. "The doctors think he's gonna be okay." Keri said. I put my hand on my heart and exhale. Thank god. "So why'd he have a seizure?" Zach asked. "Because his temperature was too high. Sometimes that can cause seizures." Jeff said. "Oh." Zach said understanding. I walk over to his bedside. I hold his hand. He's sound asleep. I kiss him on the forehead and stroke his hair. "So are you two dating?" Jeff asked. I look at him not knowing what to say. Daniel didn't really ask me to be his girlfriend but it seems like I am. "They like each other. Is that okay?" Keri said with an attitude. "I guess." Jeff said. What's that supposed to mean? I just ignore him. I don't wanna hear his opinion about me. I know he already hates me.
An hour later, we're all sitting on the couch together waiting for Daniel to wake up. I just realized that Zach fell asleep on my shoulder. I lay my head on his, exhausted. I'm really tired but I can't sleep. I need to stay awa- WAIT! DANIEL IS WAKING UP! Keri walks over to his bed. "Hi, baby." She said stroking his hair as he opens his eyes. He looks at her weird. He pushes her hand off of him. "Who are you?" He asked kinda scared. "I'm your mom." Keri said confused. She goes to hold his hand. "NO! I don't know you!" He said. "Daniel I'm your mom." Keri said trying to convince him. Did he lose his memory? "I DONT KNOW YOU!" He said. She backs away as a tear falls down her face. I touch her arm telling her it's okay without speaking. She wipes the tear and sits down on the couch. I rub Zach's arm waking him up. He groans because he's so tired. "Zach, wake up." I said. He opens his eyes. I whisper to him what's happening. That Daniel lost his memory. Jeff walks over to Daniel. "Hey. Do you remember me?" Jeff asked. Daniel backs up a little. "No. Who are you?" He asked. "I'm your dad." He said. He gets a little closer to Daniel. "I DONT KNOW YOU!" Daniel yelled. Jeff backs up. "Okay." He said sitting back down on the couch. "I'm gonna get the doctor." Keri whispered to Jeff. He nods as Keri walks out of the room. All the boys get up and walk over to Daniels bedside. "Hey, buddy. Do you remember us?" Jonah asked. "No. I don't remember you!" Daniel said getting scared. He really doesn't know who they are? "We're your friends, Daniel." Jack said getting a little closer to him. "DONT TOUCH ME!" He yelled. Then the doctor walks in. "Hello, Daniel. How you feelin?" The doctor said. It's the same doctor from when me and Daniel were in the hospital. He looks at me and smiles. I smile back. "Are you a doctor? Why am I in the hospital?" Daniel asked. "Yes I'm a doctor and you're in the hospital cause you had a seizure." The doctor said. "A seizure?" He asked. The doctor nods as he writes something on his paper. "Who are all these people?" Daniel asked. It seems like he trust the doctor cause you know...he's a doctor. "They're all here for you, Daniel." The doctor said. "But I don't know them!" Daniel said scaredly. "Yes you do. You just don't remember them." The doctor said. Daniel looks around the room at us. "What are you gonna do?" Jeff asked. "I'm gonna get a head scan." The doctor said. He starts to move Daniel out of the room. "Okay." Keri said. We all sit down on the couch. I can't believe Daniel doesn't remember anyone. Zach sighs and lays his head back on my shoulder. I lay and put my arm around him. He smiles and closes his eyes. I stroke his hair as he falls asleep. I'm so tired but I think I'm gonna stay awake until Daniel comes back.
The doctor pushes Daniels bed with him on it into the room. "So, Daniel isn't gonna lose his memory forever. The seizure cause him to have a brief wave of memory loss but he'll remember everything in a few days." The doctor said. "Great! Is he okay?" Keri said. "Yup. He can go home right now." The doctor said. "Thank you so much!" Keri said. "Your welcome." He said. She signs the paperwork and then sets clothes on Daniels bed for him. "Here you go, baby. Put these on." She said. Daniel looks at her like he doesn't trust her put starts putting on the clothes. I think he just doesn't wanna walk out of here with a hospital gown on.
When he's all changed and ready to go, all the boys stand up. Zach is still sleeping on me. I shake him a bit and he opens his eyes. "Come on." I said. He stands up realizing we're leaving and we all walk out. I look at all the boys. It looks like they're all sleepwalking, they're so tired. They're wheeling Daniel out of the hospital and into the car with a wheelchair. Even though he doesn't need it, it's still required by law. He gets into the car. He sits between Jonah and corbyn. I sit between jack and Zach. Jeff and Keri sit in the front. We drive back to the house.
