"So her father has taken her magic, and without it, she will die a slow and painful death?" Heroth asks.

"Yep." I nod my head.

"Zezanna wants us to help her come up with a solution to this problem. I'm hesitant to do so after being kidnapped, but I do really want to make sure that Zezanna is happy." Emma says.

"I understand. This is tough, though. We can't touch her father, since he's already dead, and we have no magic of our own to save her." He shakes his head, and begins pacing my room.

"I simply want her to be happy, and away from her father's influence." I sigh. "There just doesn't seem to be an answer, though."

"What about her mother?" Heroth asks.

"Huh? She hasn't mentioned her mother. I assume she must be on her father's side. Both of their spirits reside within Ysana's blood."

"Maybe we could talk to her? She might be a bit more tolerable of this romance." Heroth suggests.

"Perhaps. It sounds close to impossible, though." Emma says.

"If Ysana and Zezanna work together, they might just be able to do it." He mutters. "We have no time to waste. M'lady, when do you suggest we leave?"

"I have my duties that must be attended to. It will likely be a long day, but if the two of you wait for me in the garden around back, I shall find you when I finish with my duties. We'll go over to Ysana's once more, and see if we can find a solution to this problem together."

"And if we can't?" Emma asks.

"I don't want her suffering, but I don't want us to rush into this. We do need to consider the fact that the most humane thing to do if she is in pain for so long is to kill her, but I don't have the heart for that." I mutter.

"I'll do it." Heroth promises. "I don't want her to be in more pain than she has to be in. Ideally, that would be zero pain, but we'll just have to see."

"Thank you." I tell them, before returning to my duties.

Since I spent so long finding Emma and then talking to her and Heroth, it takes me a bit of time to catch back up on everything that I was supposed to be doing. Thankfully my advisors did pull a bit of their weight while I was out, but I'm still up until midnight doing work.

After I finish up for the day, I go out to the gardens to meet with Emma and Heroth. Much to my surprise, Brokk is there too.

"I overheard your little plan earlier." He tells me. "I'm disappointed in you for not telling the guards about this sooner. We would have gotten Emma back, and you wouldn't have needed to risk your life."

"I don't care." I tell him. "I plan to make sure that Ysana is alright, no matter what."

"M'lady... My job here is to help you in whatever way that I can. Right now, that means that I need to protect this right here." He pats on his chest. "I will die for love."

"Then... What are you gonna do?" I ask.

"I shall accompany you on your journey to lady Ysana's house. You will not get harmed on your way there. Once there, I will ensure that she does not hurt you. I promise, though, that I will not hurt her unless you ask."

"Fine. You can follow us from behind. Heroth, you lead the way."

"Yes, ma'am." He bows.

We nod to the guards as we walk out, then begin the trek to Ysana's house.

The forest is eerily quiet as we move through it. There aren't even any insects trying to suck my blood or anything. We make it to the clearing, and find Ysana standing in the middle of it, with her head hung.
