He's so kind! They always praised him. Look how he smiles! He's so sweet! Always complimenting him. He hugged me when I told him it was my birthday today! Ah my heart! It didn't matter who they were, he was always an angel around his fans.
And you understood that, you understood that your boyfriend was an idol and it was the fans who got him where he stood now. You understood he was going to be forever grateful to them and loved them in a very special way. You understand they were his family, yours too since you were one of them. And you understood that millions of girls and boys would love to be in your place.
But what you didn't understand, was why he was so comfortable around that new girl he met. They became friends really fast, very touchy even. Not that she stepped on the boundaries but you didn't like it. You could see it in her eyes, the ambition, the desire. You hate it, specially when he knew it made you feel uncomfortable.
"She's just a friend Y/N! You know I would never do anything to hurt you. You are my girl!" Jongin told you. You could tell by the veins popping out of his neck that he was trying really hard to remind calm.
You hated arguing with him. But she got on your nerves.
"Nini I know but it feels strange... every time I'm around she hugs you. Sometimes even kisses your cheek. I'm sorry but... you're not even that comfortable when you are with me" "That's not true! It's different!" "How's it different?" It did hurt, when he defended his so called friend. "She's a friend... likes to show her fondness with being a little clingy... but that's it. When I'm with you, I don't want others to see us... I want us to be more private you know?" "You know how absurd that sounds? Fine, do whatever you want. When you remember you have a girlfriend, call me" And you stormed out of the room, not even bothered to close the door as you left his apartment and rushed into the streets.
You did feel bad, you knew you could have been nicer and more rational but it wasn't the first time you two fought over her. You hated it, how even when you two were alone she could ruin everything. You trusted Jongin, he was your boyfriend after all but you didn't trust her. You knew she wanted him, you recognised the look in his eyes and you hated that he couldn't see how flirtatious she was.
"Jongin? You don't look too well, did something happen?" Minseok asked him while they were resting from his practice session. "It's nothing... don't worry" Jongin sighed "Lies... you've been very distracted today. Missed the timing, forgot the steps... what's going on?" "It's just... Y/N" "Did you two fight again?" "Yeah... I thought it was going to be like the other times. I would go her place and talk about it and we'd solve it but no..." "What happened?"
It took Kai a few seconds to answer. Minseok could tell he was really struggling, he was really in pain. "I can't find her" "What do you mean?" "It's been four days and she hasn't answered her phone. She's not home. I called her parents and nothing. I don't know what to do anymore Hyung. I didn't think it was that bad" "...You know Nini, we all like Y/N a lot. She's our friend and our fan too. But what she doesn't know is that we admire her a lot" "Hm? How so?" "She's always there supporting you, she's always choosing your dream over your relationship, she understands that you are an idol and that there are so many people that want to be her" Minseok paused for a minuted and inhaled deeply. "I'm not going to lie, I wish I could find a girl like that. Someone who understands what fans mean to us" "Why are you telling me this Hyung?" "Because you haven't seen it. It's okay to accept that but even her won't accept when someone else comes and tries to take her place" "But-" "No buts, you don't see it because you aren't interested. But you aren't stopping her either. And that's what annoys Y/N so much. That girl isn't respecting her place and Y/N can't do anything about it because she doesn't want to cause problems but you can" "So what should I do?" "Go find her"
He did look for you nonstop. Looked in every place he could remember that you liked, every corner of the city. It took him hours, it even started snowing when the night rose. "Where are you?" He whispered as he waited for you to answer the phone for the millionth time. "Where-" "Nini?" "Y/N! I thought you wouldn't... tell me where you are... I need to see you" "You know where I am..." "No, please tell me" "I'm at your place?" "My place? But..." "I came here earlier but you were gone" You sighed, it had been days since you last saw him. "Wait there okay? Please wait, I'm coming"
You had to admit it didn't take him that long to arrive to his place. His apartment was lonely and cold and you hadn't bothered in turning the light on but when he arrived it felt like the whole room was filled with his presence, like a shining start had just entered the living room. "I'm sorry" Jongin ran to you and embraced you. He held you tightly and buried his face in your neck. "I'm sorry I left like that..." "No Y/N, don't apologise. I was wrong... I thought you were being irrational but I wasn't getting your point and I'm sorry. I guess I didn't want to see it" You smiled a little, hearing him saw he finally understood was all you wanted. You wrapped your arms around his head and held him closely. "Who am I Nini? "My girlfriend" He said with the softest voice you've heard, "And you are my boyfriend" "And you belong in my arms Y/N. From now on, I won't let anyone take that place. This belongs only to you." You let go for a moment and saw him rise his face to meet your eyes. You loved him. No matter how hurt you could had been, you loved him. "You promise?" You smiled shyly. "I do, I promise. My little girl"
