"Ow, ow, ow." For some reason my hair is impossible to brush out after a shower.
I jumped because of a sudden knock on the bathroom door. "Uh, Lex, you okay in there?"
"Just peachy, absolutely amaze-balls, I'm feeling fantastic."
Anthony chuckled, "Need help with something?"
"My hair is tangled, it's a stressful moment." I opened the door showing him my current dilemma.
You know how when you put a necklace or your ear buds in your pocket and it comes out in so many knots, but it makes no sense since you put it in your pocket perfectly fine? Yeah, that's my hair right now. One minute I was in the shower with perfectly smooth hair, the next my brush is stuck in it.
He just kept smiling, he was amused by my situation I was in. "Alright, as much as I want to sit and watch you figure this out, I feel bad so I will help." He walked over to me before I could even respond, taking the brush out of my hair.
"Wha- what are you doing?"
"Helping you with your hair, now stand still."
I felt my eyebrows furrow, "that's okay, I got it, thanks anyway."
"No, I'll do it, keep your head still and calm down Lex."
"Um.."
Anthony brushed my hair without a problem and I was confused as to what he did. I ran my fingers through my hair and it was tangle free.
"Thank you!" I was relieved it was over.
"Not a problem, okay, I'm going to take a shower then we can head out." He had a smile on his face, but it didn't show in his eyes, was he sad? I kind of was.
I nodded in agreement then walked away.
Once I heard the bathroom door close behind me, I walked to his room and sat on the bed, just thinking. I eventually fell asleep without meaning to, but, my eyes shot open when I heard the door creak open. There was Anthony. Except this time he had a towel rapped around his waste, his hair tasseled since he still hadn't brushed it, and water still glistened on his skin. My eyes widened, I couldn't stop staring as he stood their looking like a model, I eventually covered my eyes and got up then ran, running into a wall.
"Ow, okay, my intentions weren't to run into a wall. I'm trying to leave the room."
"So I'm nothing but a wall to you," was his reply.
"What are you-" then it occurred to me, he was the 'wall' I ran into. I opened my eyes and looked up to see Anthony smirking down at me.
"Oh my- I'm so sorry, I was leaving because, well you know, and-"
"You act like you've never seen a guy without a shirt before."
I felt my cheeks burning. "I uh, well you're, and I, but brothers, my dad, I-"
"I'm sorry, English please." Anthony still smirked.
"I'm just going to go.."
"I have underwear underneath, you don't have to go." his stare made me shift uncomfortably.
"No thanks, the offer is appreciated though." Without another word I darted out of the room, to the kitchen.
I heard him laugh and blushed even more, why must I be so awkward?
After a while, he walked into the kitchen as well, wearing a tight fitting t-shirt, with jeans hung loosely around his waist.
He broke the silence, "So, I was wondering, if maybe I could have your number.. You don't have to give me it, but.. it would be cool if you did."
That was when I realized my phone was no longer with me.. Chris must have taken it when he took me.
"I uhh, I don't have a phone.." If I told him I was kidnapped, he might get mad at me for lying and saying I was just going for a walk, and he would hate me for making him a part of my kidnapping story.
"Ahh, you don't have to put me down easy Lex, I mean I can't say I've been rejected before, but I can take the truth. It's fine, okay?" Anthony put a smile on his face, yet I knew it wasn't real.
"Can I um, can I tell you something, Anthony?"
"Sure, go for it." He was still down since I hadn't given him my number, I felt terrible.
"Well, I'll start from the beginning.." I paused, "I was going for a walk and their was a boy behind me, he was cute. I was on the phone with my best friend and I told her their was a cute boy behind me. She told me I had to stop to talk to him. I didn't even need to wait up for him, he had already caught up to me, without me knowing. I hung up with her, and he tried talking to me, however, for whatever reason I couldn't manage to say anything. So he picked me up and brought me to his car. I was so startled their wasn't much I could do to save myself. He brought me to his house, lets just say we almost never got along. Eventually he told me the reason he took me, it was because he got caught in the moment, and really wanted to talk to me, so he went with his first thought and took me." I sighed and took a breath then continued before Anthony could cut me off.
"He fed me, allowed me to free roam in the house, and was sometimes a good person to talk to. Then his brother came along, he was much nicer than my kidnapper, because unlike my kidnapper, he wasn't so stubborn about everything. At some point in time, my kidnapper decided to play a game type thing and allow me to run out the door. I suppose he expected he would be able to catch me but he never did. That's why I'm here. As much as I'd like to give you my number, I can't. I have no idea where my phone is, and you're the only person I've talked to since my escape. My parents still haven't heard from me." I looked at his face to see a mixture of sympathy, anger, and concern.
"Who the hell- grr! When I find those jerks I'll make them beg for mercy! The fact that someone even touched you without your permission pisses me off more than commercial break after a cliffhanger! Tell me where they took you and what they looked like." He paused realizing his tone was a little to harsh, "please, I won't let them get away with it."
"I don't know where I was, I wasn't aware of anything other than getting away when he took me."
"You walked so you must know how you got here. Please remember, Lex, we need to find them."
"It was dark, rainy, and I was tired."
"What did they look like, maybe I know them."
"They were both tall.. I can't remember much else."
"I want you to stay with me until we sort this all out.. is that okay with you?" I think he needed an excuse for me to stay longer.
"Umm.." I just wanted to see my family and friends again. "I suppose, but not too long."
"No promises." He winked, which lightened the mood.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Self explanitory, really." With that he put on his cocky grin that seemed to match his personality. But I liked it. I liked him.
