It's been a few months. Everyone in the school knows what happened. A picture of me drenched in vinegar was still circulating around the school. It died down... just a little. The constant torment I got stopped, now people just laughed whenever they saw me in the hallway. I was used to it by now... I used to be angry at it, at him... at all of it. After a while it all just became meaningless.
The promise I made to myself years ago was still happening- this "incident" just happened to be a small speed bump to remind me of that I need to be on my guard.
It was a Monday morning when the announcement came on.
"Hellllo students! Good morning! A special announcement today: this years school festival will take place in the next month!"
"Yes!" Some girl squealed over the rest of the announcements. She was loudest over everyone cheering.
Naturally, I turned my head to see what was happening. I saw a girl with white hair hugging someone.
Yawning, I was halfway back to looking at Gildarts:
"Romeo~kins!! Let's go together!"
My eyes probably rolled so far back into my head they saw my brain. I turned fully back around to Gildarts. My chin rested in my chin, elbow on the brown desk.
"Alright, Alright. Settle down. You heard it; the school festival is next month. We have four weeks to prepare. Today, let's choose committee. Any volunteers?"
A minute of Gildarts just awkwardly looking at as passed by.
"Come on guys, we need some people."
This is so painful.
"I'll do it." I said with apathy, my other hand sloppily raised. Gildarts made a gesture for me to stand in the front. Sighing, I moved my hand from my head as I used it for support to stand up.
"Great. Anyone else?"
"Oh, it's fi-"
"I'll want to!"
My head turned to the sound of someone jumping out of their seat. My eyes widened as soon as I saw who it was:
Romeo.
