Fourteen

I looked up in front of me.

There was a Ferris Wheel.

I gulped. "L-Let's n..."

Romeo grabbed my hand and ran to the wheel. I was stuck running with him.

This is fine... this is COMPLETELY fine. I can just avoid the kiss. ITS NOT GOING TO BE A KISS! I'll just... I won't let my guard down. I thought to myself.

Before I knew it, we were on line. Since it 9 at night, the line was short and filled with adults.

Me and Romeo went up to the guy running the wheel. We showed him our wristbands and went into the pod.

"I love Farris wheels! This is gonna be great!" Romeo yells.

"Y-yeah..." Im sweating nervously. My palms are sweaty.

The pod started to go up. Romeo was staring out the window, happy as can be. He was smiling.

It was really hot...

...

I MEANT DISGUSTING. HIS SMILE WAS REALLY DISGUSTING.

"I had a good time today." He said, facing me.

"I did too." I said, not caring about what I was saying. I was resting my chin in the palm of my hand.

"Have I proven you wrong yet?"

My eyes widened. "Proven me wrong?"

"I know you're not the luckiest when it comes to dating.. So I want to prove to you that some guys are still good... like me."

I blushed.

"R-Really..?"

His words... they seem true. His voice is soothing and calming. Why am I like this?! Why now?! Just because of a few words, I'm becoming available. But...

I want to believe him.

"Wendy," He came closer to me. "I like you. I really do. Do you feel the same?"

My heart was pounding.

"I-uh-"

Suddenly, the pod start to move faster then normal. Romeo moved back and looked out the window to see what was happening. "It looks like people are being forced to get off." He sighed. "Bummer.."

I sighed. "Y-Yeah..."

Was that what I thought?! Was I going to kiss him?! I don't even like him! I hate him, yet... I was about to kiss him.

The pod landed. The doors were opened by the employee.

Maybe... Maybe he isn't that bad. Maybe.. just maybe.. this guy is a good one.

"After you~" Romeo said as he pointed his arms to the door. I rolled my eyes. I smiled a little and walked out.

-SPLASH-

My eyes widened. I lifted my arms up to see them covered in a strange brown liquid. I screamed. "AHHH!!"

"What's going on?!" Romeo ran out, yelleing. When he saw me, he gasped. "Wendy!"

"Hehe~!" A girl giggled. "You idiot.. you should know that your actions have consequences.." they scoffed.

"So... you set me up, huh?" I looked down. "I get it.. I am a 'nerd' after all..."

"Wendy, this wasn't me-!"

"Save it. I'm going home." I turned away from the girl and Romeo. My eyes were filled with tears.

I'm such an idiot.. how could I let my guard down after he said 2 sentences? I hate him. I hate him for making me feel like I could trust him. I hate him for then proving to me that I couldn't trust him.

I hate Romeo Conbolt.
