--------------Monday---------------
It was finally Monday, the day I didn't know whether to dread or dream of. I tried avoiding the stares of my "old friends" as I made my way to my locker. Nancy was the first to approach me, which didn't surprise me at all. "So," She said. "You're a teddy now?"
"I don't know.. I mean, I certainly wouldn't mind it. But Leather's not my thing, you know," I smiled at her as I crammed my bag into the tiny locker and grabbed my books for the first few periods. She was furious. I could always tell when she was angry because the corner of her mouth would twitch. Well, it was twitching.
Before she could say anything George met me with a wide, toothy grin spread across his face. It was a good look for him. "Hello, Jude. Mind if I walk with you to Homeroom? John and Paul are arguing about some bird and I didn't wanna get mixed up in their game."
I giggled and nodded, passing Nancy as George and I walked down the hall. It did bother me to hear that John and Paul were arguing about a girl. I was under the impression that Paul fancied Jane... Unless Jane was the girl. I'll admit I was a little jealous. Okay, I was really jealous. John was tough on the outside, but given the chance he could really be soft and sweet. He was bad, but at the same time he wasn't.
It was time for me to face it, I really did fancy John Lennon. I wouldn't ever admit it, but I knew it anyway.
George snapping his fingers in front of my face brought me straight out of my thoughts. I smiled at him. It was hard not to smile. He wore a worried expression and a leather jacket. That mix just wouldn't make sense if I hadn't known the Teds like I did.
"Hey, Geo?"
"Yeah?"
"Who was that girl Paul and John were arguing about?" I asked, tapping my pencil on the edge of the desk. I was afraid of the answer, too be completely honest.
"I'm not sure. I think it's just a common fancy, you know? Like someone that neither of those blokes would have the courage to invite out," He shrugged with a smile.
"I'll have to talk to Paul," I smiled, resting my cheek in my palm.
"He'll never tell ya, Jude," George said as he shook his head.
"I'll get him to squawk, Geo. you just wait."
I was gonna find out one way or another. Who better to here it from than Paul himself?
