Resting his hand on the steering wheel  Jordan spoke softly

"I'm sorry if Jon and Luke put you on the spot tonight "

"No worries I'm used to those two assholes "

Jordan nodded

"And as for your choice of tunes I think Journey is fine They get stuck in their own music choices and forget that others may not agree with them"

"I-I was thinking maybe go grab a coffee or something ?" Jordan asked shyly

Abby liked that Jordan wasn't pushy like other guys she'd been around .

"That sounds nice "

"Yeah ?"Jordan replied quietly

"Yeah " Abby smiled back

Jordan started the truck again and pulled out of the parking lot

"Why don't we head to my place it's more quiet and the bars have let out so I'm sure the all night places will be full" Abby suggested

Jordan looked over quickly while keeping his eyes on the road

"Is that what you'd like to do ?"

Abby nodded reassuringly

"You live  in Jamaica Plain right ?"

"I do right off of Sedgwick "Abby replied

Jordan continued to watch the road as they made their way through the city streets

"Jon tells me you're a project manager ?" Abby asked hoping to fill the silence that seemed to fill the cab of the truck

"I am "

"What is a project manager exactly ?"

Jordan glanced over at Abby "Essentially it's my job to make sure the project whatever it may be runs smoothly ,stays on budget which is also a duty to maintain and over see where all funds come from as well as where every penny goes "

"A lot of stress I'm guessing "

Jordan nodded as he  asked "What do you do ?"

"I'm an assistant manager at EBS "

"That's funny that's the bank many of the projects I oversee are funded by "Jordan told her as he turned onto her street

"My place is right over there " Abby pointed toward the two story colonial

Jordan nodded as he pulled into her driveway behind Abby's compact car

Once parked Jordan motioned for Abby to wait for him to come around to the passenger side

Jordan  opened the door for her as he outstretched his hand offering it to help her down from his truck

"Thank you " Abby murmured as she dug in her purse for her house key

Unlocking the door she led the way into the foyer dropping her keys and bag on the hall table

"Come on in "

Jordan silently followed her as she led him into the living room

"Have a seat I'll be right back I'm gonna go start that coffee "

Jordan nodded as he watched her walk to the kitchen

Keep it cool J she's not Callie

Jordan reminded himself repeatedly that he needed to move on from the shit she'd caused him.
