"Give her space and time this is all new to her J and she doesn't know what to do with it .I can help but don't push she'll just back off more .Luke's been trying to settle her down and help this along but we don't know how only she knows what she needs "

Jordan sighed. "I don't have a choice but to give her space and time. She made sure of that when she left. I just want to lay down bro. I want to be alone so I can calm down" Jordan said feeling exhausted.

Jon left after making sure Jordan was okay .

As soon as he got outside he called Abby

" Where are you ?"

"hello to you too Jon I'm in Rhode Island at my grandfather's farm Yes I'm fine I need to be alone for awhile "

Jon didn't have the chance to reply as soon as the words were out of her moth Abby disconnected the call and turned her phone off

Jon drove home feeling as confused as his brother had

Why was she making this more difficult than what it needed to be ?

Everyone understood how emotionally detached Abby was but she never once seemed to be the type to push away those who actually cared for her

Dsys turned into weeks then months without a peep from Abby it appeared she disappeared their bowling nights ended as Jordan also dropped from the team

Jon silently observed as his brother put on an act for those who he thought he could fool.

Luke drove past Abby's apartment about a month after she left to see a rental sign in the window

It appeared as though Abby disappeared and definitely was not coming back

Jordan tried to get back to a somewhat normal life. He went through the motions of work but he stopped going out and doing anything fun like he used to. He stopped bowling because it reminded him too much of his love and how she just up and left. He occasionally took the tank top out of the top drawer and smelled it just so he wouldn't forget her and how she smelled. He hoped that everyone believed his front but deep down he was still heartbroken and deeply missed Abbey.

Abby missed Jordan more than she cared to admit even to herself

Her grandmother visited her at the cabin often and repeatedly asked what was bothering her but Abby denied that there was anything bothering her .

She missed Jordan more than she cared to admit even to herself

Weeks passed until Abby realized it had been nearly seven weeks since she'd last seen him

Realizing she'd missed a period Abby began to panic

She was never late

Trekking into town she picked up a few essentials and decided to get a pregnancy test

Couldn't hurt right ?

An hour and a half later Abby sat staring at the words on the damn little stick

PREGNANT

They taunted her like a spoiled child

She was pregnant

A baby

With Jordan

How could she have been so stupid ?

The last night they were together he hadn't bothered with a condom everything just happened

Now here she was alone and pregnant

Abby didn't doubt for a second that Jordan wouldn't be an amazing father but could she be a mother ?

Her own mother hadn't been much of an example

Could she love a baby like it deserved ?

Her own childhood had been marred by coldness maybe the occasional show of affection until she hit the age of ten when her parents both turned cold not only to her but also one another

Could she be a better parent to this baby then her own were to her ?

Jordan grew up in an emotionally stable home with loving supportive parents she didn't have that luxury
