♥ Chapter Twelve ♥

"I have plenty of room in my apartment for us and we can look for a house before the baby comes" he said hoping to soothe her

Abby looked at him "You want me to stay with you ?"

Jon whooped from the doorway "Yes Gail get your ass back to Boston I want my best friend back "

Luke chuckled "Ignore him do what you need to do but I want to see you happy and J here makes you happy "

Jordan chuckled. "I would love for you to stay with me and for us to make a life together"

"Luke !!!  get the truck !Road trip!!!!" Jon shouted

Abby chuckled "That was fast .Let me call my Gram and let her know we're coming she wants to meet you anyway "

"Sounds great! Let's go" he grinned flashing his dimples.

"Put those away they get me everytime and Gram might try to steal you "

Jordan laughed. He hadn't done that since she left and it felt good.

"Do you want to tell them or should I?" He asked Abby with wink as everyone piled into the truck.

"Tell us what ? You're together and are having a baby what else is there ?"Jon stated matter of factly

"It is official now right ? No more non labels? You're gonna stake your claim right ?"Luke asked from the drivers seat

"I am not a piece of land stake a claim where the fuck did that come from Lucas ?" Abby demanded

"Well since you put it that way Jon, yeah. We're also going to be looking for a house to move into so the baby can have a nursery"

"You're gonna make me work are you serious right now ?Jon teased as Abby called her grandmother explaining that she fixed things with Jordan and they were headed to the cabin to get her things

Abby's grandmother squealed with delight and assured her they would be eating before moving anything because as she put it strong men needed fuel before moving furniture

The drive took what seemed like shorter time to Abby as she gave Jon directions to the cabin

"J didn't Nana have a cabin out here too ?" Jon asked switching lanes 

"She did. It was on a lake if I remember correctly" he said looking out the window trying to remember which road was the one to the cabin

"Turn left when you get to Lake Drive "Abby instructed

"Wonder if the cabins are near one another . Wouldn't that be something .I spent weeks here every summer "

Jon turned onto Lake Drive as Abby watched the cabins go by "Make another left on Cranston Road "

Jon turned "J isn't this the road Nana's cabin was on too ? Number 24 I believe "

"Gram's is on the turn number 23 "Abby told him as he made the turn 

"No hers was cabin 25. I can't believe this. Maybe we spent time together as kids" Jordan shrugged as he smiled at the love of his life.

"I blocked out a lot of my childhood so if we did I don't really remember "Abby admitted softly

"Gram's cabin was my escape she actually spent time with me when my parents didn't .I spent a lot of time here I think that's why I ran here when I left "

"You don't have to run anymore sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere and my family loves you just as much as I do"

"J look it is Nana's cabin we were right next door to Gail when we were kids "Jon excitedly pointed out as he pulled into the small driveway

"I -I can't believe this I remember you Nana she was always nice to me .She baked cupcakes all the time "

"J's favorite "Jon chuckled as he turned the ignition off

"Is that why you always plow them down even now ?"

Luke burst out laughing "Still his favorite "

Jordan laughed and flipped his brother off. "Its so amazing that our Nana lived right next door to yours. I hope she remembers us"

"She never forgets anyone "Abby said as Jon turned the ignition off after putting the car in park

"Oh my god why didn't you tell me it was Jordan,Abby ?"Bettie said as she greeted them at the door

Hugging Jordan immediately Bettie released her grip before turning to Jon "Jonathan !"

Abby smiled "So you do remember them Gram ?"

"This one was over here daily with a cupcake for you "Bettie chuckled pointing to Jordan 

Jordan laughed. "I still love them Miss Bettie. No one can make them like you.

"Still the charmer I see .So it's you who loves my grandbaby is it ?"

Abby rolled her eyes muttering an apology to Jordan for her grandmother's bluntness

"Hush now Abigail I want to make sure he does right by you and the baby .If he doesn't I'll be having a chat with Elizabeth "

"I love her with all my heart and soul Miss Bettie. I want to make her happy and spoil her and our baby. I want to give them the world" he said with a dimpled grin.

"You gonna give her your last name too ? Jordan you need to do right by her "

Abby wished the floor would swallow her whole she wasn't a teenager they weren't stupid kids

"Gram "

"Hush Abigail "

"If she'll have it but I'll ask her properly when the time is perfect." He told her as he winked at Abby

Come inside I made lasagna a salad with warm Italian bread can't have you boys loading a truck on an empty stomach I also made chocolate caramel cupcakes Jordan "Bettie told them as she ushered them inside"Need to feed that baby too "

Jordan looked at Jon with excitement. "Its just like when we were kids" he whispered

Jon nodded as they all heard Abby's stomach growl loudly

"Have you eaten today ?" Bettie demanded

"No Gram I couldn't hold anything down "

"Well maybe now that your beau is back that will change ,right Jordan ?"

"I'll make sure she's well taken care of ma'am" he said as he lightly kissed Abby's hand.

They chatted while eating dinner Bettie regaling them with tales from when they were kids as Abby began to remember a younger Jordan helping her learn to skate, skipping rocks at the lake , hours of exploring the woods and it hit her

Jordan was her first kiss they'd been about 12 during a game with Jon and other friends of spin the bottle

"You were my first kiss ?"Abby asked cautiously
