"Yes he was "Jon chimed in" I remember it well you both looked like a deer in headlights I just didn't realize you were you until I saw Miss Bettie no wonder we're so close "
Abby chuckled nervously that night had been so awkward but as she thought back she remembered the dimpled brown eyed boy who kissed her making her little 12 year old heart stop
He'd told her that he'd never kissed anyone before and she'd admitted neither had she and suddenly his lips were on hers
They'd kissed for several minutes until Jon cleared his throat teasing that they needed to some up for air
Both had nervously jumped back ,retreating to their spots on the floor
Abby smiled at the memory as Luke brought her out of her thoughts
"We better get a move on fellas the truck won't load itself"
The three men set to work moving things from the house
Abby had left just about everything in storage when she moved so the transfer of her things didn't take as long as they'd thought and everything fit into the truck with room to spare
Bettie set dessert out which included Jordan's favorite chocolate pie along with the cuipcakes
"Gram when did you do all this ?"
"I started when you left I had a feeling I'd be seeing some company "
Abby hugged her grandmother "Thanks Gram "
Jordan came up behind her sliding his arms around her waist "Thank you Miss Bettie "
"Jordan you're family you always have been call me Gram "
Jordan nodded remembering how he'd done that as a kid everytime he seen the woman
Dessert was accompanied by more memories as Bettie continued to reminisce about their childhoods and all the time spent at the cabin
The group howled with laughter as she described how she'd known the two would someday end up together
"It was obvious Abby you were so upset when he brought that Callie girl up here with him "
Jordan shifted in his seat uncomfortably
"She was no good for you Jordan your nana told me what she did and you deserve better "Bettie reassured him
The group finished their desert and Jon sighed it was later than they'd expected and he could see Abby getting tired
"Thank you for everything Miss Bettie but we need to head back to Boston to help Gail get settled into Jordan's place and she looks sleepy "
                              Jordan nodded in agreement
"It's the baby fellas she will want to sleep quite often now "Bettie informed them as she watched Abby yawn
The four hugged Bettie before Jordan guided Abby to the back seat of the truck
Jon took his place in the passenger seat so Luke would drive back
Jordan slid into the seat beside Abby gently tugging her into his arms
"C'mere baby rest on me "
Abby instinctively snuggled into Jordan's strong arms feeling herself begin to drift off into sleep
She hadn't slept well since she left Boston and being in his arms felt right
                              Like coming home
