Jordan held the passenger side door open for Abby once again .Abby thanked him as he squatted down in front of her resting his elbows on his knees
"This afternoon was really nice "Jordan spoke softly ,hesitant of his words
He lifted a hand to push a lock of her hair that had blown in her eyes from the slight ocean breeze and cupped her cheek as he leaned in closer
"Jord-"
Jordan's lips meeting hers silenced her protest
Quickly regaining composure Abby pulled back from the kiss ,turning her face from Jordan's confused gaze
"I-I can't you're too nice a guy . I don't do relationships or the romantic shit "
Jordan felt as if he'd been slapped ,repeatedly
"I-I'm sorry .I just .You know what it's cool let me take you home "
Abby felt his mood shifr immediately
"I'm sorry Jordan "
Jordan nodded appropriately as he backed out of the spot and pulled onto the road .
The ride back to Jamaica Plain was silent except for the ever present radio Jordan left playing
Once he pulled into Abby's driveway Jordan cut the ignition before speaking
"I don't know what guy mind fucked you nor do I honestly care but I felt something in that kiss.I don't know if you felt it too but keep in mind don't make those of us who aren't douchebags suffer for the mistakes of the tools who hurt you. "
Jordan never got out of his truck to help her as he had before he sat in the driver's seat watching her as she walked into her apartment ,saying nothing
As soon as he made sure Abby got inside safely Jordan pulled out of her driveway and made his way home.
The entire drive Jordan chastised himself .He'd never been pushy when it came to women and couldn't for the life of him figure out why he just did it with Abby
Pulling into his parking spot Jordan's phone vibrated with a text
Abby I'm sorry that was shitty
Jordan I shouldn't have pushed to kiss you
Abby What if I liked the kiss ?
Jordan You saying you did feel something ?
Abby You have very talented lips
Jordan Are you saying that you liked the kiss ?
Abby I said you had talented lips
Jordan Thanks I guess ?
Abby What are you doing later maybe I can make you dinner as an apology for being such a bitch ?
Jordan That sounds nice and I promise I won't try to kiss you as much as I want to I won't

Jordan did a double take as he reread the message
