Don't cry... Don't cry... Don't- Marinette burst out in tears holding her hand over her mouth to try to stifle the sound. She knows this had gone too far but she couldn't help it. She needed to do this to make her feel better. If she didn't eat the bread, she wouldn't have had to do this.
She couldn't believe how far a moment of weakness had expanded. One comment from one person triggered a downward spiral. She knew living above a bakery made it worst, smelling the baked goods that people travel for daily to receive, it didn't help that they tested every batch of goods were cooked to perfection with a taste test.
Marinette took a deep breath and flushed the toilet getting rid of her evidence, she brushed her teeth and took another breath. How does something she didn't like doing make her feel good? Why does things that are not good for you make you feel better? Maybe it was just her thought process but she felt happier.
She looked herself over in the mirror and felt her stomach, it did look slimmer, it was working, she smiled knowing that she could have a good day now all her feelings have left her stomach.
She left her house and went to school, deliberately not taking her lunch with her.
"Marinette..." Alya came up to her best friend and gave tilted her head down slightly looking up at Marinette through her eyelashes. "Would you mind if Nino sat with me today in class? We- I will love you forever?"
"Oh, sure Alya, don't let me stop you from your soul mate!" Marinette smiled.
"You are literally the best!" Alya brought her friend into a hug and giggled. "It's going amazing Mar, who would have known, Nino and I!"
"I'm really happy for you Alya, as long as he treats you well I will always be happy for you - you know that right?"
"That's why you're my best friend," Alya winked and Alya went to class leaving Marinette at her locker, she grabbed her books for class and shut her locker to find Chloe stood near her locker.
"You better not have more cakes in there chubby," Chloe snickered as she walked past, making Marinette's positive attitude leave her automatically, she thought she looked thinner, evidently she didn't. She lowered her head and started to walk to class, an arm reached around her shoulders and Marinette flinched not expecting human contact.
"Ignore her, you're perfect... You are beautiful..." Adrien whispered in her ear as he walked with her. She looked up at him and he smiled softly at her, causing her to look away.
"You don't mean that." Marinette stated.
"Then why would I say it?" Adrien questioned and Marinette shrugged. "Then there you go, don't doubt yourself."
Marinette sat next to Adrien during class, as that was where Nino usually sat anyway it made sense that she sat where he sits if he was sitting in her seat. Marinette was day dreaming in class again and began drawing with her marker on her hand, she drew little cats on her finger tips as she remembered the end of her string had three of them.
Adrien looked to Marinette during class to see her intently drawing on her hand when he felt a tingling sensation on his own hand. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at his left hand only to become more confused. His tie was drawing on her hand again and had drew three cats. He looked back to Marinette drawing on her hand and back at his own hand. His end of the string always drew cute pictures when she was bored in class, she had told him several times.
He jerked himself in realisation, making him sit up straight, which frightened marinette who stopped drawing and wipe over her hand taking away Adrien's red marked doodles from his fingertips too - Marinette turned to Adrien who was watching her with wide eyes, his heart was beating a thousand times a second.
"Everything okay?" She whispered trying not to get the attention of their teacher, she doesn't even know. Adrien nodded quickly, saving face as he didn't know what to say.
"I-I think I fell asleep..." He lied.
"I don't like Maths either." Marinette smiled as she looked back at the board to write down a few notes.
Adrien sat back and his mind was swirling. He looked at Marinette suddenly having a heavy feeling in his stomach. What if she doesn't like me that way? He thought to himself. He bit his lip and fidgeted a little. The air in the classroom seemed to thicken for Adrien until the bell rang signalling lunch time. Adrien stood quickly taking a deep breath as he picked his bag up.
"Are you okay you look pale?" Marinette asked worriedly to him. He wanted to run away and hide but Marinette would only think she had done something wrong so he ignored his instincts.
"J-just hungry, feel like I have been sat in the class for way too long..." Adrien lied. Marinette grabbed her own bag and stretched after she stood up.
"Hey dudes, you ready?" Nino asked Marinette and Adrien as he and Alya walked towards the two. Adrien knew he'd have to contain his discovery he couldn't just blurt it out, he knew that Marinette wasn't ready to meet her soul mate, she had stated that several times since they started messaging.
The four of them headed to the cafeteria with Adrien trying to act and cool and collected as possible.

That night Adrien was pacing in his room, the most beautiful girl in the school who he had been crushing on just so turns out to be the end of his string. He didn't know how he didn't realise any earlier. He knew she loved fashion. She wore new outfits everyday, she took textile classes as well as art. Heck, her favourite drink is Skittles shakes - he knew that! He knew that before she told him because they have physically spoke about it many times before!
Just as he was in a battle with himself, he felt his arm tingle and a new words sprawled on his arm in red writing: Hey Stranger :) It was a simple message but he still freaked. He didn't know what to say to her.
Hello my lady. Keep it as usual... He thought to himself.
Sorry about the doodles earlier, I was so bored in my Maths lesson. Even my friend next to me had fell asleep, I was barely functioning. Adrien thought back to the doodles he really couldn't believe what the fates had given him.
Not at all. You know I don't mind like I've told you before they make me feel like I have you all the time, not just before I go to sleep. He admitted.
Aw aren't you a sweetie... Talking of sleep... I'm sooo tired.
Goodnight beautiful. Adrien wrote.
You don't even know what I look like silly, but Good night. Was the reply and Adrien smiled.
Little does she know, he thought to himself as he wiped his arm with his hand and allowed sleep to come over him.
