She was woken by a tapping sound, that soon turned into a thumping sound. With a groan the blunette peeled her eyes open. The thumping was persistent and she looked around curiously as to what the noice was. Upon realising her surroundings, she stiffened and sucked in her breath. She looked around the room desperately trying to think of what she was going to do. Adrien was asleep beside her and she tried to nudge him out of his sleep, with no avail she ripped the blanket off of her and jumped off the sofa, hearing the bedroom door begin to open she rushed into Adrien's closet closing it ever so carefully.
"Adrien! I have been shouting for-" The voice was heavy with authority and importance. Marinette stood as still as she could as she heard Adrien jump up in shock.

"Father..." Adrien stammered, "I-I must have... fell asleep watching tv." He spoke dumbly.
"Never mind, Adrien, I need to talk to you about the fashion show. I understand we have had a competition for the upcoming fashion designer but- it's not too late, you can still try to contact your soulmate to allow them to co-host with you." Mr Agreste spoke in a calmer, more fatherly tone than Marinette has ever heard him talk, and she realised this was a private conversation.

"I can't... I told you before father, my end of the string isn't ready to have that sort of commitment yet, they told me theirselves. Besides, don't you like Dupain-Cheng's designs? You already told her she could be co-host."

A small sigh came from Gabriel, "I know what I said... I just- I want you to be happy. For as long as you can. The earlier you find them, the longer you have with them, it's the most precious part of our world and it could be taken away too soon, you should always fight and protect for the things you love. And I promise you son, you will love this person."
"Dad, I promise when I find them, I won't be the one to let go..." Adrien said a little quietly, Marinette was holding her breath at this point and could barely hear what Adrien had just said.

"That's all a father could ask of his son," Gabriel said calmly, he smiled at Adrien and left the room, closing the door behind him.
Marinette stayed in the closet for a couple of minutes after the door had shut to be sure Gabriel was gone. She slowly opened the door to see Adrien looking out of his window, seemingly trying to understand where Marinette went.

"Adrien?" Marinette's voice was no louder than a whisper. Adrien span around quickly and let a small sigh of relief fall from his lips.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realise he'll be back so soon," Adrien apologised with furrowed eyebrows.

"It's okay... I guess I'll have to leave though, don't want your dad finding out you're hiding a lady in your room," Marinette giggled, looking as to where her shoes were.

"We don't want that now, do we, m'lady" Adrien smirked, picking up marinette's shoes up for her and handing them over.

"We'll have to continue with Breaking Bad another time... it seems really good so far," Marinette slipped on her shoes and as she stood back up, Adrien snaked an arm around her waist and kissed the top of the blunette's head softly. All Marinette could think about in this moment is what Adrien told her before she fell asleep, biting her lip, hoping he'd say it again when he knows she is awake.

"See you soon beautiful."

"Girl, you ain't listening to me!" Alya threw her empty water bottle at Marinette, who jumped at the sudden hit, looking over to Alya she shook her head.

"Sorry, sorry, I was day dreaming," Marinette gave an apologetic look to her best friend who rolled her eyes.

"Whatever... What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Don't worry about it."

"You're an idiot." Alya stated.

"What, why?" The brunette frowned.

"Because if there was nothing wrong you wouldn't say don't worry about it dumbass."

"Fine." Marinette huffed. "A couple of days ago, Chloe apologised to me about all the years of agony she has given me, and I don't know if I forgive her... but I really should because it's not her fault that people have lied to her and disappointed her."

"What!? She's a psycho! How can you believe anything that comes out of her weird, glossy lips?" Alya argued.

"Well... I do feel sorry for her-"

"Good! She's pathetic-"

"No Alya, I feel as though she's had a tough time, I feel as though I should help her, knowing she thought I was in the way of her one true love, it would be devastating, and Chloe and Adrien were good friends at one point, she obviously thought it was meant to be."

"Girl, listen to me, you have a good sense of the right thing to do. Heck, you told me not to beat that homeless guy up that time when he asked for my chicken nuggets! You're a good person, you know yourself what you should do." Alya tried to explain. "I'll support and help in any way I can, whatever you chose."

Marinette smiled thinking about her best friend, she's lucky to have Alya, and to think the only reason they became friends is because they were forced to sit next to each other in class. It blows her mind.

"Thanks Al, anyways... Wanna see my design for the show?" Marinette rushed to pick up her fabrics, needles, and papers off the desk and floor, putting them in some sort of order to show Alya.
