"Sometimes the best thing to do is to walk away." I took a step back from Joseph, the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. This wasn't going to end well. Shaking my head, I walked around him and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Let's go." The Sheriff said, facing me. Both the Marshal and the Sheriff turned and began walking to the door. I walked behind Joseph, guiding him towards the door. My hand above one of the many scars that littered his body. I tried to not pay attention to them or the large cross on his back. The same cross that was on my back, in the same position. The Sheriff and the Marshall opened the door, Hudson stood on the other side. She turned around to face us quickly, urgency evident in her eyes as she spoke.

"We gotta get the fuck outta here." Hudson felt for her gun, as she spoke. I kept my eyes forward, watching as the Sheriff nodded before giving instructions out. The shouts and protests of the Peggies became louder as they saw their Father in the hands of these Locusts as the Father had put it only moments ago. We quickly walked towards the helicopter, Marshal in the front, Hudson and the Sheriff in the middle then Joseph Seed and I in the back. Joseph did not seem worried about being taken away. He was calm and collected as we passed his followers, not making a peep in protest or retaliation. He simply followed the authorities. I tried to not focus on the bad feeling in my stomach. My right wrist and back began to burn, I should have never done research into the Seeds before I came here.

Only once you learn of who your soulmate is, does your bond begin to take effect. The longer you're in their presence, the stronger the bond becomes. Joseph, Jacob, John and Faith didn't have to know I was their soulmate, I did and that was all it took to establish the bond.

"Back up! Back up!" The Marshal shouted, snapping me once again out of my thoughts. I looked just in time to see him smack a Peggie down with the end of his pistol.

"Burke!" The Sheriff cried out, knowing full well what the Marshall had just unleashed by his actions. Soon enough, the Peggies began to attack. Each of my companions drew their firearms and began to move quickly towards the helicopter, trying to keep them back whilst I kept the Father out of his cults hands. Hurrying into the helicopter, we quickly strapped ourselves in, whilst keeping the Peggies back and out of the helicopter. The Marshal Sat in front of me whilst Hudson sat next to me. Joseph sat in front of Hudson and next to the Marshall. Luckily far away from me.

A Peggie with long shaggy hair and a scraggly beard jumped up to the door and tried to get the Father. The Marshal shot him in the head whilst I pushed another Peggie off me whilst Pratt lifted the helicopter into the air. I looked over at Joseph, he sat there looking content. I'd expected him to resist arrest, to fight. To do something! Instead, he just sat there. Looking at me. As chaos took over, trying to keep the Peggies away from Joseph, the helicopter began to spiral. Spinning around, Pratt couldn't control it. Joseph sat there, eyes now closed, singing Amazing Grace as the helicopter span. As we span, we collided with the tall trees. My head smacked off the metal interior of the helicopter, making my vision fade to black. All I heard was his haunting voice singing.

"T'was blind, but now I see."

When I came too, we were upside down, flames burning in the corners of my eyes whilst I saw the blurry outlines of the Marshal, Pratt and the Sheriff upside down in front of me. A voice ringing out over the radio.

"Come in... this is Nancy. Is everything OK? Over." I looked to the side to see Hudson next to me, but no Joseph. "Please, are you there? Are you there? Are you there, Sheriff" I looked around, my head still foggy and muffled from the collision. "Deputy Hudson, if you're there please pick up." Another voice rang out besides Nancy's. A voice that made my heart beat speed up, in fear.
