The flashbacks come at strange times. I think of him when I see Tobias, when I look at the blood-stained floor in our old apartment. His cry, his soft skin, and the sight of his empty bed on that dreadful night.
Tobias says we will find him someday. He’s the only person keeping me here when depression threatens to pull me away, even though I know he doesn’t believe that he will ever come back.
Christina and Uriah try to get me to do fun activities and they bring Lynn. Lynn being there just makes me feel worse, and I see so much of Will in her. She was born just a few months after Will went missing, they would be in the same year at school. It will get worse, Will would be choosing in less than a week.
Christina and Uriah want me to go to the Choosing Ceremony, to support Lynn, but there is no doubt in my mind that i won't be able to force myself off of the compound.
I help train the inties every year so if Will is alive and chooses Dauntless, like i hope his heart will tell him to do, i will know.
