Resurgent

Part 11

"Circle up everyone! We're playing Candor or Dauntless!" Sam yells as she pulls me into the Pit where all the other initates are.

We all sit in a circle and the game begins.

Sam goes first, "Lynn, Candor or Dauntless?"

"Dauntless, I'm no pansycake!" She must see the look of confusion on everyone's face "It's a word my dad uses all the time. It basically means I'm not a coward. What's the dare?"

"I dare you stand on a tabel and sing I'm a little tea pot as loud as you can."

Lynn gets up and does the dare, when she is done everyone laughs, but the laughing stops when our insturctors walk over to us.

"Candor or Dauntless again Lynn?" Uriah asks obviously drunk

"We don't want another game like last time." Christina says

"What happened last time?" Kenzi asks.

"All you need to know is that it was the best Candor or Dauntless game ever held on the Dauntless compound." Joey says on Lynn's behalf.

"Well, Will you know the question." Lynn says

"Dauntless."

"I dare you to do a shot from Kenzi's belly button,"

"Done,"

Kenzie lays on the floor, removing her shirt, and fills her bellybutton with alchahol. She giggles when I drink it causing some of it to miss my mouth.

"Four, C or D?"

"I'm going with Candor to mix things up."

"What is your real name?" I say, unable to think of any other good questions

He looks at Tris and removes his shirt. I guess there is too much power behind a name.

"Joey, you know the question." Four says

"Dauntless."

"I dare you to kick the naxt guy who walks in, in the balls."

Joey stands and waits in the doorway. He waits for what seems like hours until he finally gets board, concedes and removes his shirt.

"Hmmm, Kenzie pansycake or dauntles?"

"Let's go candor, mix things up a little."

"Should we play never have I ever?"

"Yes thank you, this is not a good round."

Sam gets out a couple bottles of alcohol and enough shot glasses for the 9 people playing. Lynn takes it upon herself to take a shot, earning a glare from her parents.

"Game on, Will you are up first" Lynn says to me

I think, what would most of the people here would have done that I haven't, "Never have I ever lost my verginity."

All the instructors and a few of the dauntless born take a shot and Lynn goes next.

"Never have I ever had or fathered a child" for some reason she is targeting her parents who both take a drink as well as Tris and Four.

Tris for some reason bursts into tears showing a weak side that I didn't know she had. Four scoops her up and carries her out of the room.

Uriah is pissed off " Lynn, how dare you go after them like that. You know how children are a touchy subject with her,"

"It's not my fault her son was kidnapped a few weeks after he was born,"

This escalated fast.

"Can't you sympathize at all?" Uriah yells as Christina runs out of the room.

"I did sympathize ever since I can remember! I never even met Will!"

"Lynn you need to shut up right this instant."

She turns to me and says "You need to talk to your parents." Than she walks away

What does she mean? My family had nothing to do with whatever's going on here. But I'm not sure what to think anymore.
