I run into the cafeteria, grab a picinic basket that for some reason are randomly stacked in a corner, and pack it full of food.

When I'm done picking out what will be our lunch the basket consists of,

Hamburgers

French Fries

A Six Pack of Chocolate Pudding

Sweet Tea

And of course Dauntless Cake

I make my way down to the Chasm, bairly able to contain my excitement. Not because I'm having lunch with Sam, but because I get to eat dauntless cake!

I see Sam standing by the edge of the Chasm as I get closer. She is looking down, at the rushing water. I walk up behind her and wrap my arms around her. I didn't decide to do this, my arms just instinctively wrapped themselves around her. My chin rests on her shoulder and she leand her head back against me.

It's not an awkward situation or uncomfortable, it feels nice.

She sighs then says "I feel like time has stopped."

"Wouldn't it be great if we could stop time and live in moments like this forever."

She giggles "What are we doing here anyway?"

"Why? Do you want to be somewhere else?"

Sam hesitaites before answering "There isn't anywhere i would rather be right now."

I smile and lead her down to a rock closer to the water, where I set up our lunch. We eat in a comfortable silence as the water rushes below us.

"This is so peacful. The rushing water, and cold air."

"Not to mention the cake!"

"What's Abnegation's food?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You know, Dauntless has cake. Amity has their bread. Erudite has fizzy drinks. I'm not sure what Candor's food is. Abnegation must have some special food."

"I don't really know. Maybe plain oatmeal, or scrambled eggs. Something very bland." I pick up the cake and shovel a scoop into my mouth, "Nothing this good."

"I've had better."

"How dareth thou discrace thou name of Dauntless cake!"

"It's just, Amity bread is better. It never fails to put you in a good mood."

"That's not a funny joke." I say trying to contain my anger

"You are addicted to cake." She picks up all the cake and throws it into the chasm.

"NO!!!!!!!!!!" I lean over the edge reaching for the cake falling deeper and deeper into the chasm until it hits the water. A tear falls down my cheek.

"Are you seriously crying over cake?" she holds her hand out to help me up.

She soothes me as I willingly let the tears fall onto her shoulder, mourning the loss of my cake. She pulls away.

"I know what will cheer you up."

"What?"

"We are going to play Candor or Dauntless!"
