All was quiet as the young girl trod down the dirt path. The early morning shed a warm light over the surrounding and shimmered through the gaps of leaves in the forest. Seeing as no one was near, Sakura brought her arm up to her face and flexed her hand, analyzing her muscles.Can I try it?...
A soft green aura trails from the tips of her fingers, but slightly sputters. Her chakra control was still at optimal levels, yet something seemed off about her chakra. "It's so weird to be your younger self again isn't it...?" She mumbled to herself, gripping on the bentos she made for Sasuke and Naruto. She smiled.
"It's weird to be..... what?" A cold voice said. Somebody was behind her! Sakura jumped in surprise and she reached for her pockets.
"W-what, what are you doing here?!" Sakura questioned as she lowered her kunai. Sasuke looked down and smirked.
"You couldn't even notice me sneaking on you the whole time, even if my chakra wasn't concealed?" Sasuke deadpanned, putting his hands into his pockets. "I thought something about you changed, looks like I was wrong." He said smugly, then he turned around, disappearing down the path. Sakura watched his retreating form with morose.
"I can wipe that smirk off your face with a single punch, you know!!" Sakura growled as she raised up a fist in anger. Sakura realized what she was doing was meaningless so she relaxed and continued to walk the path. "Hmm. Wait. Why was Sasuke going the other way?....WAIT A MINUTE!" Sakura quickly turned around and started rushing back.
"UCHIHA!! HOLD UP!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sakura groaned as she plopped down onto the grass, already exhausted from all of that running. But it probably didn't matter anyway, Kakashi would most likely arrive 3 hours more late than her.
Sakura leaned back and noticed a figure slinking in the shadows. It was Sasuke. "Oh! I got something for you!" She reached to grab a bento, but was abruptly stopped by a loudmouth.
"OHAYO! SAKURA-CHAN!" A voice chirped jovially. Naruto was being unreasonably loud again. Sakura covered her ears and turned her head to see Naruto running over to her. "HEEYYYYY!"
"Naruto?" She quickly sat up, only for Naruto to ram straight into her. "What the heck, Naruto!" She growled. Naruto latched onto her with a big hug. When she recovered from the sudden action, she looked over to the bentos. "Come on, get off me! I was going to give you something," she gently pushed Naruto off and then turned around. Sakura slowly turned back, stretching out her arms to give Naruto the bento. "I made you this!" Sakura said while grinning.
Naruto gasped and blushed, "W-Wha! For me??" Sakura nodded.
"What are you waiting for? Eat up!" Naruto hesitated. His sheepish attitude dissipated quickly, changing into a serious one.
"Didn't Kakashi-sensei say that we can't eat? Because of the survival test thingy?" He inquired.
"Naruto, breakfast is important. Remember what I told you yesterday?"
"Oh yeah! Well, it wouldn't hurt to eat Sakura's homemade cooking!" Naruto laughed and decided to accept the bento anyway, after all, who wouldn't accept a gift from their crush?
"Don't worry about that. Shinobi always need a good meal before they go out to battle." Sakura briskly pushed the bento into his hands along with some chopsticks. As they both got settled down onto the grass, Sakura gently opened the lid of her bento. The smell wafted into the area and made her nose tingle, "Gosh, I haven't cooked in a long time but this smells good..." Sakura glanced at the untouched bento sitting beside her. She lazily looked around but didn't see Sasuke anywhere is the clearing. But she knew he was hiding nearby. She pointed at the forest behind herself.
