⏪ Back in Time! (HELP!) [Sakura Timetravel AU]

23: Confronting Orochimaru

"NO!"

Sakura reached out for Sasuke as he slipped out of her hold and tumbled onto the ground, making a sickening thump. Orochimaru was already on their tail, Sakura couldn't waste anymore time.

Naruto screamed beside her, "SAKURA-CHAN!!" Sakura gasped as she realized she was still in midair. She let out a tiny shriek and fell through the air.
Sakura curls into a ball and rolled onto the ground hop right back up before she hit a tree. She dashed over to Sasuke's body as fast as she could.

"I've got you now! You can't run anymore!" A hissing shriek pierced through the air as several snakes approached the two. Sakura held her breath and ran until she was so fast she slid around Sasuke and grabbed him by the arms, immediately swinging him around her back.

She started running again and made a dash for a tree, she let out a groan of relief as she felt her feet hit the trunk of the tree. But then she let out a startled screech when snakes swiftly slithered over to the tree and snapped their fangs at Sasuke who was dangling on her back. She grunted and climbed higher, her legs slipping.

When she scrambled to the highest part or the trunk she hopped onto a tree branch, then she secured Sasuke on her back with a tight grip. And she jumped forward, her eyes widened when she saw Naruto in the next tree waiting for her.
"N-Naruto?! No! Don't wait for me! Go!" She screamed at him, but to her dismay snakes were already weaving their way on his tree.

She stiffened when she heard a sharp tearing noise and thundering bang on the forest floor. Leaves shook wildly and the noise deafened her ears for a moment she almost slipped up and didn't land on the the tree. Sakura gasped as herright foot slipped off the tree and she fell backwards. Orochimaru smirked. He watched as his snakes climbed higher into the tree, a few staying on the forest floor below, shooting acid at the trunk. Which was melting it slowly.

Sakura felt a hand catch her and looked up to see Naruto grunting as he pulled her up. Sakura sucked in a breath and thanked Naruto as she stabled herself on the branch beside him. Sakura put her hand behind her back and felt for Sasuke to see if he was okay, and he didn't seem to be hurt. Sakura sighed and looked ahead with a serious expression.

"We have to escape. As fast as we can. The tower is right head of us, Orochimaru shouldn't get us there. The guards and  jounin will be waiting for us there." Sakura and Naruto let out a huff as they jumped onto the next tree ignoring the tree the were on which was toppling and starting to fall over.

Orochimaru looked down and smirked, he wasn't that weak to let them go like that, after all, he knew most Justus. Orochimaru swiftly did some hand signs and he was sped up immediately he was beginning to close in on the two. He smirked as he got his chance to attack when they were jumping in mid air, he did another round of hand signs and the ground rumbled beneath him. Suddenly, all of the trees were pushed forcefully out of the ground and they were flung at Naruto and Sakura. Orochimaru could hear their shrieks.

Sakura jumped right and Naruto jumped left as they dodged the incoming trees. Sakura froze and looked around for Naruto but he was nowhere to be seen in the dust and all of falling trees. She gritted her teeth in anger.

That wretch of a snake! He separated us! I need to find Naruto!

Sakura hopped down onto the ground and quickly dashed off into the direction she last saw Naruto heading in. But she couldn't see any trace that he would've left behind.

Those damn trees! Naruto might've went towards the tower like I told him too.

Sakura changed directions and started to make her escape from Orochimaru towards the tower. Sakura looked over her shoulder for a moment only to her horror to find out that Orochimaru was right behind her! He was openening his fangs, a weird liquid forming on his fangs. His neck was stretch and he was lunging for Sasuke's throat! Sakura shrieked and turned around blocking Orochimaru attack with all of her chakra built into her fist.
And she cut his fangs in half.

Orochimaru shrieked and disappeared into a cloud of blinding smoke. Coming out just as quickly, forming a ring of fire around them. He huffed but then smirked as his hundred army of snakes began to crawl out of the ground in the ring. Orochimaru licked his lips with his long tongue, "That doesn't matter, I'll just kill you and take Sasuke-kun." He said as he was calming down. Sakura gritted her teeth from the piercing pain on her palm she flipped it over and saw a wound.

It was making a weird mark on her arm, it was like the curse mark that Orochimaru gave Sasuke in her timeline but it was distorted and half of it was gone. It didn't totally get her palm. But still. She didn't want Orochimaru controlling her mind. She shivered but took in a deep breath, her hands shaking. She secured Sasuke on her back once again and got into a fighting position.

Her chakra giving off a piercing glow as if hostile.
"Fine, lets play Eagles and Chicks. We'll see who the real loser is after this!" She declared.
