⏪ Back in Time! (HELP!) [Sakura Timetravel AU]

33: Underground Secret

"There she is!" Guards shouted as they spotted Sakura running around a corner.
Damn it, maybe this wasn't a good idea after all.
Sakura turned to look behind her and already saw the guards catching up to her, if she didn't do something about it she would be dead meat.

"Hold up! She freed a prisoner! Call another team to deal with them!" A voice shouted behind Sakura when they noticed Sasuke sprinting in front of her. Soon enough they reached the end of the hall and there was tightly sealed window at the end. Sasuke readied his chidori and jabbed his hand into the window, it cracked and then let out an explosive shatter and Sasuke jumped out of the window.

Sakura gasped and speed up, she dove out of the window and threw kunai knives at Sasuke, his guard was down so they pinned him onto a tree. Sasuke grunted in pain and tried to pry the kunai off with his teeth but to no avail. Sakura landed on the tree branch and plucked the kunai's off of him.

Before Sasuke could say anything she tied him in a chakra bond and flunf him over her shoulder. Sakura jumped off the tree just in time before a guard could grab her. It became a wild goose chase. Sakura was jumping from tree to tree until she finally found a place where she could hide.

Luckily, the guards didn't even sense her chakra concealing. Sakura sighed and rubbed her head in pain, she was getting headaches from using all of those high-level chakra usage abilities. Meanwhile, Sasuke was having a fit and he was struggling in Sakura's chakra bind.

He glanced at Sakura and sent her a cold hard glare. Sakura ignored him and peeked out of the bushes, but they made a swishing sound which made her panic and go back into hiding.
"Dammit, now I've got them on my trail." She muttered to herself.

Sakura turned around and ripped the muffler off of Sasuke's mouth. Sakura watched intensely as Sasuke took in a deep breath and coughed, "y-You...Why did you do this? Did you realize what I have done? Why are you not in the hospital?" Sasuke spluttered out. Sakura closed her eyes and nodded, "I know.....I know you probably didn't really mean it....I mean I get that you can really get angry sometimes..."

Sasuke gritted his teeth, "What do you know about anger? You've never experienced anything like it!" He spat at her. Sakura shook her head.

Naruto...Sasuke....I wish I could've saved you..

She looked up and made direct eye contact with Sasuke, "Don't judge a person if you don't really know them well." Sakura said calmly. Sakura sat up and scooted herself towards Sasuke. Sasuke pricked in alarm and tried to flail himself out of her reach. Sakura caught Sasuke by the collar and pulled him into a hug.
There was silence.

"I'm just glad you're okay, Sasuke." Sakura said. Sasuke stared at the bushes behind Sakura and spaced out. He was feeling something that he couldn't explain right now.

It made Sasuke want to hug Sakura back.

Sakura sniffled. She started sobbing, "I wish...I wish I could've....save..." The rest of her words were incoherent blabbering. Sasuke looked down at Sakura who was burying herself deep in his lap and shaking. He decided cleared his throat.

"Ahem."

Sakura snapped up and looked at Sasuke with a wide eyed look. Her eyes were still filled with tears, Sasuke closed his eyes, ".....Even if I hurt you that badly you....still forgive me?..." Sakura nodded slowly. Sasuke breathed shakily, he would never understand how she could forgive him that easily.

I could never forgive him.

Sasuke squeezed his eyes shut and cleared his mind. Right now he had to focus and getting out of here somehow.

Sakura was looking deeply into Sasuke's eyes when he opened them. Sasuke blushed and looked away from her, "....so about the thing I said before I ..stabbed you." Sakura blushed and sat up straight. "Um...just so you know I feel the same way.....not like..too intensely though," Sakura chuckled, "I think the guards are gone n-" Sakura was broken off when Sasuke leaned in and kissed her. She closed her eyes and kissed back.

They savored the moment for a bit and then broke away. Sakura looked deeply into Sasuke's eyes again, "I think it's best we get going now. By now, elite ninjas are out to scout for you and me."

Sakura stood up and unbound the chakra bind from Sasuke. He stretched him limbs and flexed his fingers. And then looked at Sakura one last time before fleeing. Sakura growled with frustration.
This is going to be a long day.

"Ha! I've got you now!" Sakura grabs Sasuke by the hem of his shirt and immediately trapped him in her bind again. Sakura grinned, "You're stuck with me now! If you try to run away I'll deplete your chakra, got it?"
Sasuke didn't look at Sakura, "Why are you doing this?" Sakura sighed, "I'm the only one that has a safe place for you to hide right now, it's not my house though, I know a secret place."

Sakura winked and twirled Sasuke around and then pulled him onto her back into a piggy-back ride.

Then Sakura gave a running start and then somehow sprung onto a tree branch with the sheer force of her jump.

After awhile, Sakura and Sasuke arrived at one particular tree in the forest and Sakura set Sasuke down on his feet. She did a couple of handsigns and opened a layer of the tree, it revealed a hole covered with a steel entrance.

"Only some ANBU and me know about this, I doubt they'll search here though because it's impossible for any normal Genin to find." Sakura bent down crawled into the tree, dragging Sasuke along with her.

She pressed her palm onto the entrance and chanted some words, then the diamond on her forehead glowed.
Click.
The entrance clicked open. The iron-lidded entrance slowly opened to reveal a ladder under the entrance. It looked to be a long way down. Sakura decided to take a risky choice and first threw Sasuke down the hole,
"WHA-" Sasuke screamed and then fell down the tunnel. Sakura turned around and closed the tree, sealing it so nobody even noticed that it had an opening in the first place. Sakura turned back around and placed her foot on the ladder and then progressed down...
