⏪ Back in Time! (HELP!) [Sakura Timetravel AU]

38: Final Mission

"Sasuke..."

Sakura looked through a tiny window in a jail cell that Sasuke was placed in, he was being held back in restraints. She watched as he screamed with hate, his Sharingan was spinning wildly. The room was draining him of his chakra so he wouldn't cause a casualty, but it was horrible to watch. Sakura covered her mouth and looked away.

"I...I didn't know that he would react this way." Kakashi shook his head and began to walk away, "He needs his time to think about this, come on, let's go." Sakura looked at Sasuke one last time before she left, and what she saw made chills falls down her spine.
Sasuke was looked straight at Sakura, his Sharingan was glowing now, but what scared her the most was the emptiness in his eyes.

When Sakura and Kakashi arrived at the hokage's headquarters the hokage was already waiting for them outside of the building. He walked over to them and made a motion for the people behind him to follow, "These are the ninjas that will accompany you on your mission.
They are trained professionals and have all at least led ANBU missions." The ninjas bowed to them and the stood up straight. Kakashi folded his arms, "So, do you have any intel on where Orochimaru is?"

The hokage hummed and nodded, he reached into his pocket and took a piece of paper from it. He placed it on Kakashi's palm and then he took a step back. "This map is the route you will take to one of Orochimaru's suspected hideouts, we have ensured that this is the safest way to break into it.
But please, be cautious." Kakashi looked down and unfolded the map, Sakura craned her neck to see what was on it. It was a pretty complicated looking path, and the hideout seemed to have many traps.

Kakashi showed the map to the group of ninjas and they discussed the best way to combat anyone who was occupying the hideout. Sakura stood behind Kakashi and listened in.

"Ok, Sakura we go on one. We will cause a distraction while the others infiltrate the base you got it?" Sakura nodded, "Ok."
Kakashi started the countdown, "Three, two, one!" Kakashi and Sakura immediately sprang out of the bushes and sped towards the guards, the guards immediately noticed them and attacked them with their weapons.

Sakura whipped out her kunai and took a slash at one of the guards, they dodged easily and maneuvered under Sakura, cutting her belly with a knife.

Sakura let out a groan of pain and slid onto the the ground, she felt her leg being pulled up. Sakura pushed chakra into her leg and thrust herself upward and she hooked the guard in the face. The guard yelled and grabbed her fist, she slapped his face and kneed him in the stomach.

The guard pushed Sakura onto the ground and was about to step on her but she dodged to the side and roundhouse kicked him on the head. The guard was knocked off balance, Sakura took this as a chance and chopped his neck from the side. The guard immediately lost consciousness and fell onto the floor.

Sakura took in a deep breath and stabbed the guard in the heart.

The guard stopped breathing and his body turned pale, Sakura kicked him to make sure he was dead. She turned to Kakashi who already had a guard's body tied up. Kakashi looked up quickly, "Sakura watch out!"
But it was too late, her leg was snatched by a snake who was sneaking up behind her. It wrapped around her leg and pulled her in the hideout. Sakura yelled and stabbed the snake in all of the spots she could, the snake fell limp and Sakura fell onto the floor.

Sakura cut the snakes neck off before scrambling up, a whole army of snakes were slithering down towards her.
The hideout was dark and she wasn't used to her surrounding, this was bad. Sakura gathered all of her energy into her body and let out a cry, "CHA!" The snakes hissed and lunged at her with their fangs bared, she sliced off their necks and stabbed them repeatedly. Snake blood covered Sakura's face, her eyes were wild. She was doing fine in that moment, until, her leg was bitten.
